You may have more bad news coming, it may be hard to swallow but after kashmiri separatists, corrupt politicians, its the turn of bollywood to be clean of underworld influence. Liberandus, paki haters and PR lobbies soon be running for cover. Patience ....

Lol you confuse shitty movies having some patriotism in them with quality cinema because you only care about your agenda being pushed. You probably think that Modi movie earlier this year was some masterpiece and then you have the nerve to act like you give a shit about cinema..alt right retard.

None of that is happening, it's your crazy fantasy. Bollywood is still liberal mostly, even if they try to push some forced patriotism at times.

As long as movies are good and entertaining I don't mind. Although would like to see more actors doing these apart from Akshay/John.

But they are rarely good, last good one was probably Airlift. And the last thing we need is for everyone to jump on this bandwagon.

Airlift being the last good one of nationalist/social issue of Akki/John is your opinion though, while you have full right to say it, but it is not same for everyone. People loved and praised the likes of Toilet, Parmanu, Padman and Batla House. While none of these were great movies, but they were good, one time watch.

While yes Rustom and Gold were crappy, but Akki is a star, plus holiday factor along with the reputation of doing good movies, have made those movies hit.

And I don't consider Kesari a nationalism movie, it was more about Sikh pride, while I found it lame, except the war sequence.

I have not seen MM, so will not comment on it, but it was an entertaining movie as far as public opinion goes.

While it is true Akki does nationalist movies, but I think it is harsh to discredit his stardom, especially North India, were he has been doing good business since 00s, before this so called nationalism phase. Akki's problem is he does too many movies at a time, but than again if they are all making decent money, and giving profit to everyone involved, who can stop him??

True, this is just about my opinion. I made this thread to see if others agree. For me Akshay's only good nationalist movie is Airlift, Padman & Toilet were medicore and felt like PSA's and the rest sucked.

Akshay has star power sure but I don't think he ever had a better time in his career (he came close in 2007) and I don't think it's all because of him, it's more because people in India these days eat up any nationalist movie and don't care about the quality. It's a trend now, especially because of the current political climate

Yeah him milking it is a big problem, it may have worked when he was doing comedies but with his current movies the rush job is more obvious (with the lack of research, reused formula etc.). Something like Mission Mangal could have been really special if done right and with proper care.

But MM being such is not Akki's fault. Look at Balki's interview, those guys wanted to make that movie in that kind of fantasy setting. Akki is just an actor, why is no one bashing Vidya, even thought she was the one who had first read the script and even had a hand in stealing it.

See now this next four-five movies are comedies or masala movies, and mai likh ke deta hu, those who are crying that Akki only does nationalism movie, will also cry Akki only does comedy/masala movie in 2020. Their problem isn't the movie, they just don't like Akki .
