Competition is quite TOUGH right now!

The Gen-y actors have it tough. All of them are neck-to-neck and are in more or less the same boat. I guess Ranbir and Ranveer are still a little ahead, but Varun, Sushant, Ayushman, Tiger, Vicky Kaushal, Shahid etc. are all more or less doing great too! They can be called content-driven superstars, but they are doing well for themselves. The two biggest hits are by Shahid and Vicky Kaushal this year.

So...is this good news for the viewers? This is more like the 90's when the Khans were pitted against Akshay Kumar, Ajay Devgan, Sunil Shetty, Govinda and Sunny Deol. Finally, the gen y actors are coming into their own. This will probably increase quality for viewers.

Yea nice to have variety. Few yrs back was quite boring watching the Khan's and Akshay in every other film.

no they can't be called superstars....its the content that is a superstar now.....good content and more than that...connecting with the audience and you have a hit movie....if Rajkumar was the reason for Stree being a hit...what happened to Mental?? with good content every Tom Dick and Harry are giving hits...while superstars are giving flops......pehle the movies of superstars used to do well without good content.....abhi dekho...even a flop Zero made 90 plus...while flop Mental made in 30s...if I am not wrong...

Luckily I don't watch his films anymore.. There was a small phase when I used to like him.. not anymore.

I don't agree. Both go hand-in-hand, content and stardom. One without the other doesn't exist. Both ELKDTAL and Judemental Hai Kya were good movies, they flopped due to lack of popular names. I have seen both movies and I can vouch they were better than some movies which have gone on to do super business this year.

stree has shradhaa too along with content new genre horror comedy

He was at his best when he was doing comedy movies imho

Bw is going hw way . No genuine movie stars but with right product. Last movie star is leo who can make original movies hit where rdj, jlaw types need right product movies and brands.

Now movie with good directors scripts and with right actor works but now star power is diminishing concept
