Even Luna was not popular at Hogwarts. She came to Hogwarts in Harry's second year but met him in his fifth year. Ravenclaw is a house for creative and people thinking out of the box, like and geeks and nerds. But Ravenclaws take pride in that. Their house is the only one where you don't have a password but have to answer a riddle to enter the dormitory. So think how intelligent students have to be in that house. It's not easy being a Ravenclaw.

The sorting hat apparently took a long time in sorting her cz he was confused between ravenclaw or gryffindor and finally decided on gryffindor bcz when time comes she'd prioritize courage n virtue over knowledge. not to mention Ravenclaws r creative n free thinkers while Hermione was incredibly close minded to any new concept.Originally posted by: 4thPrincoholic

Neville's sorting took a long time too cz he thought he can't live upto Gryffindor house image n wanted to be sorted into Hufflepuff. the hat argued with him n finally made him accept Gryffindor.
also the hat took long time in sorting Professor Mcgonagall n Professor Flitwick,the head of gryffindor n ravenclaw respectively. he was confused between Gryffindor n Ravenclaw in both their cases n decided Gryffindor for Mcgonagall n Ravenclaw for Flitwick.
