Aamir Khan Can’t Sleep Because the Cries of Sexual Assaulters Keep Him Up All Night

ICYMI, Aamir Khan had famously backed out of Mogul, a biopic on T-series baron Gulshan Kumar, to be directed by Subhash Kapoor, a man accused of sexual harassment by actress Geetika Tyagi in February 2014.

Last year, Aamir had posted a statement stating this –

But, a few days ago, the actor announced his decision to do the movie because… he couldn’t sleep at night… these are the actual words he said in an interview toHindustan Times –

“We heard that whatever steps he (Subhash Kapoor) was taking to put together a film didn’t go through, because nobody wanted to work with him. That really troubled us because we felt that our action had inadvertently cost a person — who is yet to be tried in a court of law — to lose his livelihood. And for how long? Is it for one year? Or ten years? We don’t know. What if he is innocent. We were very troubled. Laws of natural justice consider a person innocent until he/she is proven guilty. But until such time that the courts reach a conclusion, is it that he/she should not be allowed to work? Is he to just sit at home and not earn?

And so, we were in this troubled state for many months. I couldn’t sleep at night because I used to constantly feel that my actions have inadvertently caused a person, about whose guilt I have absolutely no idea, to lose his right to work and earn a livelihood.”

Aamir Khan was concerned about this man’s livelihood. Not the woman’s livelihood who went by the book and followed every procedure required by the law to a file a case against her harasser. No sleepless nights over her trauma.

He also said that he had a word with 10-12 women who had worked with Subhash Kapoor and all of them unanimously said “Yeh ladka heera hai heera, ek machchar nahi maar sakta, doosre insaan ko kahaan haath lagayega?” – I might be paraphrasing this statement.

So yea, Aamir is THAT guy who doesn’t believe a woman’s claim even if she has video evidence against the man she accused of sexual harassment.

Aamir is THAT guy who is concerned about a sexual predator’s livelihood. He gives no f*cks about the woman who hasn’t received much work since the time she decided to share her trauma in public.

Aamir is actually THAT guy who starred in a movie called Dil in which his character tells Madhuri Dixit’s character that if he wants he can totally rape her, but he’s sparing her because he’s a #NiceGuy.

Should’ve known something’s not right in his head after he came out crying after watching Imran Khan’s last attempt at showing more than one expression on camera in Katti Batti.

Last heard, Aamir’s sleep schedule is back on track because his sleep podcast consists of Vikas Bahl, Anu Malik, Subhash Ghai, Rajkumar Hirani, Sajid Khan, Nana Patekar and Subhash Kapoor saying ‘Thank you Aamir’ in different languages.

It’s like Mile Sur Mera Tumhara but by men accused in the #MeToo movement.

He does get up once in a while because the cries of sexual assault victims gets too loud sometimes, but they’re muffled rather quickly. He apparently orders his minions to shut the women up, the code is rumoured to be – ‘Dekho zara dekho zara khud ko samajhti hai kya’. Poetic.
