I love this movie so very much....rare to see a story executed with this much emotional rawness. And the soundtrack is just❤️❤️

I wonder if the writers chose the song for that very reason only.....although Mahabir's story is way darker than HS's.

Oh I cried bucketloads at the end of the movie .. and I couldn't stop shedding tear when this song played again ..

Since yesterday that sound of beating is still echoing in my head

Along with the beating, HS ki mother ki wails and his father's words echo in my head...."Aurat hai, aukaat mein reh".

If there is a singular reason for why Babita's story resonates so much IMO is because it lays bare the ugly truth of the way a woman is thought of, spoken of, and treated to constantly be kept in "aukaat".

To this day, my blood turns cold over the scene when Ashok lashes out at Babita at the courthouse and talks about how he's seen her without clothes.....Mini's wails from that scene haunt me to this day....and I can't even begin to fathom Babita's state of mind in trying to emerge from that.....I feel somewhere those words still echo in her head too.

As a woman, how do you begin to move past such naked raping of your self respect and dignity by a man you allowed to see you at your most vulnerable physically? And then to see that being done in front of your own child?

Some things leave a mark on your soul....ofcourse you try to move forward and embrace the light....but the scar remains.

Oh all of it .. I was totally shaken & rattled by it when each & every memory was said out loud

Ah that was some public humiliation .. and she has risen from ashes .. what a long journey she has traveled ..

at least you said it out loud, I cannot gather the courage to say it out loud either .. neither can I say it nor can I imagine it

And this reminds me, I really liked the scene between Babita and her Bhabhi in today's epi as well.....where her bhabhi again reminded her to stop guilt-tripping and enjoy her happiness for once.....and then also acknowledged the fact that the things Babita has gone through and still emerged from.....it speaks to the courage inside her....not everyone may have been able to do it.

We begin a new journey in today's epi as HS unlocks one among the many locked doors in the haveli and his heart.

What a beautifully built up scene that was as HS dusts off the cobwebs and revisits his mother's room and her memories again......top notch song choice as always with Sooha Saaha.

each and every scene was so symbolic of wiping away the old pain/memories .. and oh what a song to match the little boy's yearning for his mother

I was struck by the natural casting for his mother as well....she has that classic look of old village ladies....weathered, patient, the kindness reflecting on their faces even as they stoically pose for a photo. And maybe it's just me, but I felt a resemblance between his mother and Babita too.....something in the eyes that has a sense of deja vu.

I was very pleasantly surprised by the authenticity of the pictures .. but then it's PBmakers .. I shouldn't be surprised .. I will revisit the scene regarding resemblance .. but I have found him sensing the similarities between the two due to their pain and their love for their child ..

It was also noteworthy that the other mother figure in his life - Naeem bi was the one who coaxed him into opening the door.....one mother helping him revisit another.....the way she urged him to replace the memories of his mother's cries with that of Babita's laughter.....this is the path for true catharsis for HS.....as NB rightly put it.....Teri maa tar jaayegi.....your mother's soul will find peace if you can fill this place with Babita's laughter.....and HS vowed that no woman will ever cry in this haveli again.

I absolutely loved that dialogue of hers .. perfectly simple statement to convince him to let Babita into his heart .. she is the perfect mother he can ask for who will guide him the right path in the times of difficulty/dark phase ..

I was convinced with that vow of his but then Jean's comment made me scratch my head's too .. maybe there's more to it than meets the eye .. either what Jean said or he will go above and beyond to keep babes happy .. something doesn't sound convincing about it now

Lovely acting from Anirudh in this scene once again. 👏

Stupendofantabulousfantastical performance .. hum to yaar kayal hai unki ada(kari) ke ..

Mini lovingly cleaning the room and slowly putting HS's mother's old things on the dressing table....a very sweet touch.

I was saying this yesterday, she is the key to his closed heart to vacate it from it's past memories and allow babes to enter .. absolutely loved how she understood the significance of that room for him.. because until she didn't know, she was okay to let Mickey & Preet clean it .. but after knowing about it .. it left a very poignant significance for her too .. the room/memories so valuable to him is now being handed over to her babes .. a huge honor for her

We've talked so many times about the imprints we leave on everything we touch in life.....a glance, a word, an action.....and some of them have far-reaching impacts. Today's "kadmon ke nishaan" moment was indicative of the same......Mini cautioned HS against entering the room with his shoes on because he will leave imprints on the freshly cleaned floor....so he removes his shoes and walks in almost reverently.....then remarks that the imprints have already been made the day Mini and her mother walked into his life and this haveli.....again, a beautifully executed poignant moment.....na kam, na zyada.....just the right amount of dialogues and emotions.

To me this scene was very symbolic .. they are bi-fold for me .. 1) it's a revered place and hence extremely pure/pious to remove shoes and enter the clean room .. even Minnie wasn't wearing any shoes .. 2) leave behind all the dirty/dark memories and enter with a clean/new memories ..

Footprint - again a big symbol .. he had lost 2 most precious women of his life .. and with Minnie's entry, imarti returned to his life - they both share the same feisty personality .. and now with this marriage his mother in returning in the form of Babita ..

The other theme being built up in the epi ofcourse is that of an inevitable flashpoint for Mini.....she's so heavily conditioned all her happiness on that of Babes that she has neglected herself in the process.....so Micky keeps warning her that a breaking point is coming.....but Mini being Mini brushes it aside.

Lehenga bhi alter ho gaya, mehendi ka rang bhi chadh gaya.....but will these things guarantee happiness? Micky's question was bang on regarding that.....and I guess it's inevitable that this will come to a head soon.

initially even I felt that he shouldn't have said it at this hour.. although what he said wasn't wrong either .. but I was thinking from a viewer POV .. from a CV POV .. he is right to have said this .. because she isnt realizing how badly empty she will feel once the wedding is over .. withdrawal symptoms galore ..!!

And so the mystery of the red lehenga continues to build😆

The last 5 minutes of Jaago kinda felt dragged TBH.....they could have built in some other interactions scenes in b/w rather than non-stop dance....lol....but chalo koi nahin.

Kal Khatri will pull a standard Khatri.....and probably put into motion the next round of emotional issues to work through....Mini will deffo grapple a bit with adjusting to the new reality of her parents needing privacy.....like she even forgot today that they would be moving into a room together.....it's been just her and Babes for so long, it will deffo be an adjustment period....and Khatri's words will guilt trip her about not giving privacy to her parents.

Yes she will .. but it will a learning phase for her .. she will learn to now focus on her life .. her needs .. her wants ..

Again some first impressions...

So we finally saw a glimpse of HS' mother. Will she appear in flashbacks too? That lullaby-like song they played as he opened the door, walked in, and went through her belongings. Uff! I can't even describe what I felt then.

I felt pained .. I just wish a child doesn't ever have to go through this trauma for his mother .. !! although soothing .. there was a lot of hidden pain in that song

His face as he wiped the dust off the frame like he did with Imarti's and hugged the frame as though the little Hanuman was hugging his mother again, the happy tears, the look in his eyes as he walked through the clutter in the room. Aniruddh was wonderful there. The wiping away of the dust on the photo frames, the cobwebs, everything was just wow! I am glad NB was there because she knows all of it, and stepped in to be the mother-son that be needed when he was younger and now too.

That wiping off was nothing but dusting off of old dust that has gathered and clouted his good memories .. that hug was so endearing to me .. that tear and smile .. oh how much he loves his mother .. how much we love our mothers .. !!!!!!

HS wanted it to be a new beginning for everyone, including the haveli too, which seems to be a character of its own. He said no woman would cry in this haveli again, but I have a feeling that it is definitely going to happen. He might have sounded like he was referring to Babita after she became his wife but it could be Minnie too. We'll find out later.

Initially I didn't feel anything except for a promise he made to himself .. but after reading your comment, I am scratching my head now .. To me it's either he will go hell & beyond to keep babes happy or what you are saying ..

Mickey is indeed becoming a junior HS, and there was a lot foreshadowed in his words. His words are becoming harder for her to ignore and she is increasingly uncomfortable with his ability to see right into her mind. Babita will indeed see unhappy moments in her second marriage, it won't be perfect or fairytale-like but she has to figure it out herself, perhaps with HS. Minnie can't always troubleshoot for her.

I am falling in love with this boy .. what a transformation from a bade baap kayal bigda hua beta to a sanjha sa Bacha jo Bina kuch kahenge sab samajh jata hai .. I don't know if u noticed .. but he noticed soomething offish with HS when he said how many secrets he has locked up ..

Also, Minnie's going to wonder about her place in her parents' lives, hope Khatri's malicious words don't create insecurity in her mind. As it still she still has a bit of a distance to cover before she can fully accept HS as her father. Hope this doesn't grow.

I am fine if she begins to get inscecure from khatri's words .. she is merely a 17 year old .. I do not expect her to understand everything like an adult .. and like I said it will be a learning phase for her .. sometimes you have to be challenged to learn & emerge victoriously..

Glad the CVs are raising this point because it is what happens in real life too, that when people remarry, their children sometimes lose their footing / identity/ place and often struggle to figure out how to adapt to the changing dynamics. In this case though, she is HS' daughter before anything else, even before Babita being her mother. I wonder if the legal aspect will come up any time soon.

I loved what Mickey said about conditional love between Minnie and Babita. It was bang on. Cut to father-daughter scene.

Yes very much .. she can't be taking the load all by herself to keep her mother happy .. she can't become the mother to her mother .. she is 17 for crying out loud .. She knows what he is talking about .. and she is babita's daughter after all for denying/rebuffing him .. she knows it too well what he is saying because she already went through it once .. but she isn't ready to face it yet .. this isn't the time yet .. let the wedding be over .. when she has more time .. and when there will be incidences where HS takes care of it .. or crudely put, uski naak need neeche see jab Mauka nikal jayega then she will realize how much time she has lost on not focusing on herself

Interesting that the keys to his mother's room wasn't part of the bunch he has handed over to Babita when he had proposed. The look on HS and Minnie's faces as he handed her the keys and then when he told her whose room it was. Oh my God! Don't even have words to describe how brilliant that scene was and the emotions father and daughter communicated just through their eyes. She understood the weight of it and his trusting her with something so precious, giving her the keys to another aspect of his past, he understood that she knew what this meant to him and let her know with his hand on her cheek that he was sure that responsibility was in the right hands, in fact for the first time he had haq se given his daughter responsibility for something pertaining to him.

absolutely loved how she understood the significance of that room for him.. because until she didn't know, she was okay to let Mickey & Preet clean it .. but after knowing about it .. it left a very poignant significance for her too .. the room/memories so valuable to him is now being handed over to her babes .. a huge honor for her and her babes

This was such a beautiful scene, with do many intricate layers, shame I'm short on time to describe it. I just LOVED how he talked about Ma ka adesh to open up the room, referring to Naeem Bi's 'instructions'. That's the place he gives her, and in handing over the keys to Minnie he silently also gave her instructions, to take care of this precious part of his life. Brilliant writing!

The way Minnie's face changed as she said she would decorate the room herself was wonderful. She understood the responsibility and trust he was giving her but also the place he was giving her mother by making this their room after the wedding. Some scenes just cannot be expressed in words and done justice to. This is one of them. I'm just in awe of the screenplay here. Kudos! And Minnie dear, just like you, we too didn't know that door led to a room. HS' words about how he had locked up many secrets sounded ominous. Can't wait to discover them.

I had talked about the hand to cheek thing yesterday but today it was taken to a whole other level. From his 'adopted' mother who loves dearly to him, and then from him to the daughter that he has pretty much 'adopted' as his own. So much emotion passed from one generation to another, from a mother who shared no DNA with her son but taught him how to love a child in spite of it to the son who shared no DNA with his daughter but began to love her in spite of it too. With emotion there was also the passing of instructions from parent to child.

OMG Jean, this is such a masterstroke from you .. !! Hats off !!

The dialog about Minnie's qadam was monumental. She's the harbinger of change and hope in the family, a new generation, a new beginning. Just like she cleaned the clutter in her parents' lives, she cleaned the clutter in the room to bring in a new start. HS not walking in with his soiled shoes, rather with his bare feet to connect to the new clean room, which had been washed of the dirt of darkness and neglect, so that he could literally feel the newness and freshness now introduced into the room and into his life through his daughter's efforts.

Photos that were once left aside were now proudly hanging on the wall where they belonged. As with Imarti's memories and photo frame, Minnie wiped these clean so that the real picture was visible, as will many other things in future. So many feels in that scene. I wish I weren't traveling - there's so much I want to write about it.

I will again commend the CVs on the way they are unraveling the mysteries of the haveli, revealing hitherto unseen rooms and stories. That room wasn't added overnight. The CVs had always had it in mind but were hiding it until the right time came, 180+ episodes later. How much homework they have done on these characters and their back stories!!! Very impressive!

I am in awe of CVs, they are writing foolproof screenplays .. I was watching the episodes from scratch, esp HS/babes/minnie ones mostly .. no khurana stuff .. and all the loops that they opened earlier are being closed slowly and exactly the way they had narrated it .. perfectly correlated to each other ..

Ofcourse, those similarities in nature already exist between Babita and his mother.....that toh is long established in the story....but today, I saw a physical resemblance in terms of eyes....something in his mother's eyes reminded me of Babita's eyes.....and it clicked somewhere more why he's drawn to Babita....she reminds him of his mother in more ways beyond just the suffering they both faced.

Naeem Bi's dialogue today also drew that direct connection of how much Babita reminds him of his mom.....so I guess the writers will explore that in more detail in the coming days. What he lost with his mother, Babita will bring back for him....that vulnerable, traumatized child has to be healed by Babita only.....Mini is the conduit who opens the doors and sets the stage....but the ultimate step always has to be taken by Babita.

I was convinced with that vow of his but then Jean's comment made me scratch my head's too .. smiley44maybe there's more to it than meets the eye .. either what Jean said or he will go above and beyond to keep babes happy .. something doesn't sound convincing about it now

Ismein convince hone ki baat kahaan hai? LOL he took a vow....but he is a human being....and life is never perfect....so obviously there will be setbacks from time to time...I'm not holding him to some aar ya paar standard ki you dare not ever let there be tears.....to me, what was touching was the intent of the vow.....woh sabse zaroori hota hai....baaki toh headwinds are inevitable from time to time.....but the tree will weather all storms as long as the roots are deep....and the roots here are already deep....will continue to grow deeper with each new phase.

Beautifully put!

I especially liked your read of the Footprint scene....yes, Mini and Babita are giving him back the two most precious women in his life, albeit in different forms....but whatever pieces he'd lost of himself in losing those two women are slowly coming back to him.

And yes, the sense of reverence was definitely there as he entered the room barefoot....Mini sanctified the room with innocence and pure love....and it became a place to bring new light and memories into.....

I'm still not over the adorableness of the dance sequence from yesterday and how naturally it was executed.....HS-Babita giving in and dancing khul ke for a brief moment there before moving back to shy mode and Mini being all "aww" over them😆
