WARNING SPOILERS AHEAD : the film is steaming on Zee5 if u don't want to know the climax skip this thread and watch the movie 1st.
so I missed this film in theaters, despite having only negative reviews, the film had solid WOM it went onto do 3x of its budget business and emerged a sleeper HIT of the year.
But what I wanna know, what was this film actually about? from the promos and trailers, it says they r trying to uncover the mystery behind lal bahadur shastri's ji death (india's former PM)
The film focuses on the same, but somehow its more about the rajneeti and politics that plaguing the nation. How politics is everything, how fake committees are formed just to bring issues to another lok sabha elections and shastri ji's case was only a tool for them in the film.
Picture this, the climax : (spoiler) the girl goes through hell and somehow makes it to the committee and explain the so callled facts about the mystery, but after she's done, nothing happens...the committee members just vanished, so what was the point of whole discussion, that whole cheekhna chillana through out the film?
Next moment, the girl finally succeeds in knowing the caller which was none other than mithun chakraborty. she asks him what did u get of this, was shastri's case and truth behind it was just a way for u to get ur position in politics? to which he replies positively, and he said in a cryptic way that everything is fair in politics and its important to win. means this film shall no actual purpose for the real plot it was based on. the climax thugs you.
however, not saying this is a bad film..despite loose script ends, the performances of the entire cast keep u hooked, its mostly filled with great actors like mithun, shweta, naseer, my personal fav is pallavi joshi in the film who's grossly ignored by critics, so on acting front u won't complain. The film is little lighter compared to the heavy trailer that was thrown to public.
