Will he turn big star now

Shahid Kapoor has climbed up managerially, so it seems. In a sudden change in affairs, Shahid’s long-time independent manager Aakanksha has quit, forcing the Kabir Singh actor to find a new associate to handle his work.

After going into a frenzy on who shall manage his upcoming biggies, Shahid hired Reshma Shetty of Matrix, who has clients like Akshay Kumar, Varun Dhawan, Alia Bhatt and Karan Johar.

As soon as Reshma was hired, Shahid signed the remake of Jersey. We hear Gowthan Tinnanuri, who had directed the original, will direct the Hindi version too.

Now call it Reshma’s clout or Shahid’s new-found success, the actor has been paid Rs 35 crore and a stake in the film.

This is what we call management skills.

Kabir Singh has done wonders for him. And getting those "Biggie's", I think, has more to do with Kabir singh's success than hiring the new manager.

Shahid is already an A-lister since a long time, and the success of Kabir Singh has added the extra benefits for him. He was bound to get a script like this considering the acting skill and dedication that he always has given. If Shahid can keep this consistency and his upcoming movies perform well in the BO, then he will be a big star soon.

Reshma is a one trick pony. All she does is keep planting donation articles. She revamped Salman's criminal and bad boy image by bombarding the media with donation news. She turned Being Human into a thing. It's the same exact thing she is doing with Akshay. He went from being a crass womanizer to a Canadian desh bhakt but the methods are the same. All she does is keep planting news about donations to right-wing preferred causes.

She is good for people that need an image change. Even there, there is no innovation. Just the same old charity stuff.

Shahid is fine the way he is and nobody dislikes him and he has no huge scandals that need to be covered up.

That would be so nice...Tired of watching mediocrity ruling the industry for decades...Finally its the era of the stars who can also act! Expecting some really good movies from him....

Same here... Hopefully he won't disappoint the audience with his upcoming projects. I'm glad that he has agreed to do the Jersey remake. Many oppose to the idea of remake movies but still I appreciate a remake if it's made well and the lead is played by a good protagonist rather than mediocre actors who just ruin the essence of the original film. As not everyone watches south movies so there is always a demand when it's made in Bollywood. Shahid is supposed to do Dingko Singh Biopic too. He has become choosier with scripts it seems.

Sure hope so. I have been rooting for him for many years, glad to see him finally finding success. Sure he had great well received performances like in Haider already before but he didn't have much success at the BO so far.

I watched the Jersey original and found it a bit underwhelming(against the popular opinion though) but hoping Shahid will make it much more interesting...The content is novel, just have to be careful about the presentation!

@Bold: I think he has always been choosy with his scripts, consciously trying to choose the roles which have a lot of scope to show off his acting skills...

He will need 2-3 more hits to keep up the momentum he gained from Kabir Singh.

He's always been a good actor to me.
