Many major South Indian stars from Rajnikanth, Kamal Hassan, Chiranjeevi, Mohanlal to Vikram, Dhanush, Prabhas have done Bollywood movies. But no major Bollywood stars barring exceptions have ever seriously looked at South cinema, probably because they see it as inferior to BW. So why would South audiences take them seriously?

Not to mention, South's content is way superior to Bollywood. Even the masala, commercial potboilers South makes are much ahead of its North counterpart. For superhero films or other mega budget films, they already have Hollywood. Why would they knock Bollywood's door?

South has 4 different languages..They need to learn the language to work in any regional movie.. Specially South movies r hero centric and they have to mouth many dialogues..Public won't accept if they r heavily accented..Heroines ka chalta hai coz mostly north Indian actresses work in masala movies with big stars..All they have to do is look good and dance..Heroines ke lite zyaada much hita nahi hai..

And most mainstream south movies have pathetic storyline..Even local audience has started calling out their misogyny and treatment of women in movies. Really good movies r niche and don't make it to top grossers.

Bakwaas. The real reason is most are South movie remakes so many are not interested in watching same thing again in a different language. SI centres lap up original and entertaining content so his analysis is complete nonsense.

Andhadhun, Uri, Badhaai ho, kesari, Dangal, TEPK,Dum laga ke haisha, Tashkent files,hichki, raazi , padman , parmanu, kedarnath, Raid,Sui dhaga, luka chhupi..Just some of the movies in last few years in different genres..Ye to bas chhota sa list hai..There r many more.

How many of these r south remakes?

Only recent one is Kabir singh which was slammed by feminists and loved by public . Bahubali, KGF and Sahoo aren't remakes..They r multilinguals..So should we say north Indians r more welcoming to south Indians?

Bollywood doesn't take the south market seriously. They would rather go and woo the chinese audience than the south indians. I mean I understand why would they care when they have such a huge market at their disposal.Aise hi toh Bollywood didn't get so much money out of nowhere. They had bigger markets so for them putting efforts for south markets isn't worth the effort. They might even see the south markets as added income and nothing else. Its the south industry that saw potential in reaching for the northern markets and put that much-needed effort to connect to the audience and thats how it clicked. Look at how Prabhas promoted the movie or for that matter brought more Bollywood actors to the project and even tried dubbing for it. Itni mehnat kaunsa Bollywood actor karega to connect to the south audience?

Salman knows he has huge fan following in the south. If he said that then its wrong. Kuch na karke bhi itna bada fan following and he is still complaining. Had hai. 😆

Who is asking them to dub for themselves? You think Hindi comes easily to South Indian actors? They work hard, simple as that. If BW actors are not prepared to work as hard and refuse to get out of their comfort zone, then they should stop dreaming of becoming pan-India stars.

Heroines like Kajal Aggarwal, Tamannaah are Punjabis but are proficient in South Indian languages. They worked hard because their livelihood depended on it. If an SRK or a Salman don't want to work as hard, it is up to them.

Most mainstream Indian movies have a pathetic storyline, yes. All the bad that is there in South is applicable to BW as well.

Sonu Sood is not a mainstream BW hero. If you go down that alley you will come across many Hindi character artistes who are doing well in the South.
