Good. This was one bad call by all parties concerned, getting together to make this film in the first place. It was never going to work.
Salman is not a nuanced actor to pull off an age-gap romance with depth of sensitivity. It would simply look disturbing and maybe even turn off some of his fanbase. Don't know what he was thinking signing up to this.
Alia is having her humble pie moment that's for sure. It is GREAT that she's having a bit of a turbulent period, it can only be good for her character and her craft. Having everything handed to her on a silver platter with barely no sweat broken was not good for her. Let her experience some letdowns and some turmoil. It'll only make her a better actress and hopefully, a more humble person.
SLB is one taxing director who really should stay away from superstars who are already used to their starpower and way of working. It's no coincidence that most of his successful films have come when actors have completely surrendered to his vision. A Salman or a SRK at this stage of their career, cannot bend to his rules or ways of working. Why even bother? He should either go with newbies or actors who are still hungry to perform and be successful.
All in all, as someone upthread put it, a bullet was well dodged by all in this saga.
