Is the audience ready for a movie like Chapaak?

Deepika's first female-centric movie has her playing a disfigured woman. That is a big risk in itself. But my question is, is the audience ready for a movie like Chapaak? Will they accept Deepika playing a scarred and disfigured character? Either ways, it's an important movie for her filmography. No-one can say she was playing it safe, by accepting a movie like this.

Whether audience accept or not it's upto them. But for me it's good enough that a movie on such subject is being made.

film acchi banegi toh accept karenge, ab agar chutiya film banega toh nahi karenge.

We have seen what happened with Sarbajit when a good story was translated into a chutiya movie.

And Chappank will be a WOM movie, so it will be purely on director's ability whether they can make the movie good or not.

The recent years have been a testimony to audiences warming up to the content-driven, well-made movies. So, yeah the audiences have not only been ready for but also been whole-heartedly accepting of the content-driven but well-made movies.

The content of Chappak is novel as well as good. If the same goodness has translated to the overall movie-making, there is no reason why the audience will not accept it...

This is the best time to release a film like chaapak. I mean these days, any film with somewhat decent reviews go on to become blockbusters. So why not this one?
