Nope...SRK was speaking about intolerance on social media......He said ..Intolerance is increasing on social media....not only in India but all over the world......Barkha Dutt...deliberately gave out the headlines as ..Shahrukh says...Intolerance is increasing...

aur logon ka kya hai...woh to Shahrukh says per he bhadak gaye...aage kuchh sunna he nahi hai...

Same thing happened when KRK said...I will leave India if Modi wins....some till day ask SRK to leave India as Modi won....even though KRK clarified that it was him who tweeted this...not SRK...I.

Point is that people will hear what they want to hear...baaki sab bekaar hai😆

Wait I remember reading he said something about food habits ? Specifically he was talking about the anti beef agenda. Was that later?

yes maybe later...i don't remember it...but the intolerance debate started after he commented on the intolerance on social media.

Yeah, in the Barkha interview, he had not commented on either beef or anything political. She kept trying to trap him by asking "Is intolerance rising, is intolerance rising" (to push Congress agenda) but he said "no, intolerance was always there" and how people don't debate or discuss anything in India; everyone just starts shouting and screaming.

After that, they cut out a few lines and made a soundbite and spread it around as if he said something about the BJP. Bhakts went wild and they are brainless anyway and when there is already prejudice in your mind, you are very happy to believe what was already in your head. Same as when KRK made that comment that he will leave India if Modi wins, it was spread around with photoshopped tweets as if SRK said that. Around Dilwale time, it was Aamir that made some weird comments and bhakts decided to protest and punish another Muslim actor in his place. If your heart is unclean, it's easy for you to believe what you already thought anyway. It's their own prejudice that makes them believe the worst because they automatically already believe that Muslims are disloyal.

Same as what the Pakistanis are doing now. The show is depicting the Taliban in the desert but they automatically took it upon themselves that Pakistanis are being called terrorists. Somehow this got connected to Muslims as if Pakistan and Islam are interchangeable. Because that's what they think in their head anyway so it's burning them up.

In fact most actors are very guarded in interviews. God knows what’s interpreted as something else or who ends up getting offended over a trivial matter.

I have seen actual fear in his eyes after that interview. His entire personality changed. Post that whenever any question regarding intolerance or religion came,he would avoid or fumble. As a well wisher and fan,it hurt me, a Hindu so very deeply I can't state this enough. He has entertained such for decades and he was being told to go Pakistan. That one comment changed everything for him. I believe that was the beginning of the end of freedom of speech for Bolly. What I find sad is that during My Name is Khan the whole country supported him because we weren't divided by then. I remember being in Bombay back then and I was so happy and glad that Bombay stood up to goons but during this intolerance comment time the jingoistic ultra performative hindutva right wing nationalism already had its claws in India.

The idiots who told him to go to Pakistan did not probably know that his Dad was a freedom fighter....His family CHOSE to leave the part that became Pakistan....no one deserves to stay in India more than him.

They don't care. I've seen it on this forum itself. They create their own conspiracy theories even about his parents as they give patriotism certificates while sitting in their AC rooms and never having a done a single thing in their lives. They are whatsapp warriors and many of them don't even know the real versions of history, only the propaganda. That's why totalitarian regimes ban books and make schools change their curriculums. It's the same thing that Trump has done in the US too - anti-intellectualism rules now. The more brainless you sound, the more "real" you are and the more you "tell it like it is."

You know even if his dad wasnt a freedom fighter and even if his family didn't choose to leave Pakistan, it still wouldn't make Shah any less Indian. Not per cent. He is as Indian as you can get. A picture of a secular educated and intelligent Indian who has always been proud of his identity. In the remotest areas of the world people know India and Bolly because of him and him alone. He has contributed to the Indian economy. He has overcome every little stereotype about Indian Muslims that our neighbours try to throw at India and its secularism. He is an Indian who has given back to the country. Funny thing is not one of those people asking him to go Pakistan have achieved not even 1% of what he has as Indian, domestically and internationally. And they were lecturing him about being Indian.

This! Shahrukh is an indian and always will be no matter how many people try to pull him down and he has made India proud many many times that the hateful people can only dream of.

All u People feeling sad that SRK is scared to speak after that controversy coz of rise in right wing politics and hindutva sentiments..pls note..he was trolled by bigots for posting a pic of Abram praying to Ganpatii when they brought the God home..can call them Islamic bigots?

Link for those who care to read.

Please treat bigots as bigots..they r there in every religion. Don't blame Hindutva..this is the same country that has given immense love to SRK..his religion was never n issue. Controversies r created by divisive elements whose sole aim is to create unrest and gain publicity. There were so many voices in India who supported SRK and called out Barkha for her misleading interpretation..and u all know Barkha's reputation among what u call Bhakts..
