SRK lost his marbles since Ra1 I guess, in between the only movie that worked for him was CE and in that one also he was hamming with all his strength.
I believe that for this decade Akshay is the bigger star and he will continue to be one, firstly because his movies are medium budget ones and can survive on their initial hype and his subsequent performances, he does not need a lot of PR games and promotions to churn out a super hit. secondly, he can zone out, if he is doing some solid desh bhakt concepts then in the same time he is also doing a sooryavanshi and house full, where he can work with a big star cast and still be the most liked one and third reason is that he really loves his craft, he makes movies for audience and not to break records, the same reason why Salman and Aamir also had a legendary run all these years, Akshay knows his audience and makes films according to their taste, the box office collections may not be 200 crs but he still reigns supreme in tax market whereas for the past 15 years all SRK has been trying to do is either break Aamir's records or Salman's BO records, in the mean time he even forgot what his audience likes to see in him, he never really understood the viewer's taste and that is why all his mega budget films have flopped and the arrogance he has, has to end, he sounds very obnoxious and lame at some of his public interviews.
couple of years ago, I remember I had this huge argument with few SRK fans when said that Tom Cruise is the biggest movie star in the world, and they showed me statistics and google searches that how SRK is the biggest movie star. They were so blind and ignorant about the fact that some stats will never justify something, SRK never tried to make a movie which was as big as his stardom, instead he mocked his contemporaries and also took digs at many people back when he was high with his success.
I am glad that he is back to earth, he is a very good actor but no more attractive on screen unless he really surprises us with a great movie. Zero looked bad from the trailer itself, what on earth was he thinking? And who the hell gives him ideas to make movies like Harry and Sejal crap? Does he even read the scripts?
I am very happy for Akshay, Mission mangal has got the best reviews for Vidya and Akshay is still happy with it, he has done great movies in this decade and I really loved watching Padman and Rustom, he was brilliant in Rustom. You can call him names and criticize him for being a canadian citizen but the indian audience loves him, and his movies and his personal life or personal choice of getting a citizen ship does not change the fact that he is one of the best movie stars india has produced, truly versatile and self made. And he was the heart throb in 90s too, every actress wanted to date him and he dated them too.. LOL.. One of his kind ... The evolution of Akshay kumar is inspiring ...
