That site used to the most entertainment site for comments. It used to get maximum amount of comments. I use to go there to read comments but now there are hardly any comments on most articles.

I used to be a regular contributor to Pinkilla when there were hardly 20 other regular posters (This was back in 2008-09 when I didn't know something like IF existed).
It was a very small group of people who would make their own posts and have discussions. In 3-4 years time, it became big as it started attracting thousands of visitors. The entire industry would visit the site but no one would admit it. Slowly people like Karan Johar, Sonam Kapoor and later Kareena Kapoor confessed to visiting that site. Anushka Sharma was so affected by the comment section of Pinkvilla that she would rant about it in her interviews.
The anonymous, almost unmoderated comment section and the user generated content were the USPs of Pinkvilla. People could come out of nowhere and could be heard. That's why it was so unlike any other Bollywood site.
But as it became bigger, it started behaving more like a corporate media house. They hired people to post content and limited user participation. That's when it lost its mojo and became like any other random Bollywood media house. I haven't visited that site on my own in years now. It's sad how it looks now.
IF will be in a similar situation in a few years😆
if not whole forum, BW forum ka haal toh yehi hoga pakka.

Abhi bhi to yahi haal hai. Only Kangoli topics or political posts are to be visited. 😆
Ya..Have observed this recently..Where there used to be at least 50-60 comments on few celeb topics there r hardly any now. Most of them have zero comments. Even celeb fashion and yay or nay have zero response.
And this is something recent. Probably after kangana-journalist spat. Pinkvilla was among the few who were regularly covering her and praising her. Something to do with that?

Most comments were troll on that site. I never bothered to read the articles but I only read the comments but suddenly comment section starts to die down. Nowadays, they also put South Indian actors actresses headlines. Recently, I see lot of articles about some South actress named Samantha. They also post lot of articles about TV actors actresses. Few years ago, it was only about Bollywood. Now they post less Bollywood news and more news about other places like Tellywood, Tollywood, etc. They don’t even bother to post any news about jobless Bollywood actors actresses. So it does seems like a PR site now but I wonder what happened to the comment section. Did people stopped making comments or did PV stopped posting comments that are troll since most of the comments were troll on that site?
They must have gotten sued.
Pinkvilla used to regulate comments but not in the way you think. They used to deliberately only allow the story they wanted to sell so they would not post your comment if it didn't serve their propaganda. If they wanted negativity against one actor, they would not post any positive comments. If they wanted positivity, they would not post any negative comments. It was completely manipulated.
I think some PR agencies were writing comments and manipulating them with money. Rival agencies must have gotten sick of it and sent a legal notice. Blind items were also probably being sent by specific PRs. There was no real news - just to way to throw crap at others.
Then they started spamming the site with articles about Hollywood and South Indian films. I don't even know who this is but there are always dozens of articles about someone called Samantha. Paid articles started being kept at the top instead of how it used to be where the ones with the most views would go to the top.
It's a ghost town now. I hope it dies completely.
They are being paid by kr and delete comments or do not let you dislike anything about kangana.
