So I saw the trailer and I had many disturbing thoughts about it. I mean I get it they’re trying to show the flip side to it but still a part of me feels is it really necessary to make a movie on it? Especially under the current scenario and the me too wave and all these horrific rape incidents being reported every now and then? Yes there may be some false accusations and people using the Me too wave for personal gains. But if you see the overall picture, numbers and percentages I don’t think it’s as many as the actual rape cases and even there we can’t be so accurate because majority of the rape cases don’t even get reported. Also not many women are in this position of privilege where they can afford to go public with such a serious accusation which puts them under the public eye, under severe scrutiny, questioning, allegations, physical examinations which are the standard procedures of investigating rape unless there is some truth to it.
So if such a movie is made, isn’t it kinda undermining the whole suffering of the real victims? And the whole me too wave? Is it really necessary and needed would it make a negative impact on the me too movement. Please give your thoughts.
Also since rape is such a serious subject please be sensitive with your comments, no trolling please. Would appreciate a healthy discussion only please.
