Are you kidding me? Ranveer Singh had the performance of the year in Padamavat followed by a completely opposite character of Simmba...and you telling me that he doesnt win and instead they give it to Ayushman who just wore glasses and did a role with a straight face and didnt tell jokes for once in a movie ? Kuch alag karne se national award mil gaya Ayushman ko?

and Uri? The story and content was the king there - Vicky ne exactly kiya kya tha? Just cuz he ate few extra samosas and gained weight?

and My chameleon Alia? She gave the performance of a lifetime in Raazi, and done a clean sweep of all awards this year- you're telling me some Keerti from the south was better than her? I highly doubt that. This is a ploy to bring her down, they dont want to accept her talent. This is honestly so insulting, she really delivered a path breaking performance and she doesnt even get a MENTION?......Even Sonam got a mention for Neerja and she sucked in that movie.

its ok if ranveer doesn't win a national award, as a fan i am fine with it, as long as he gets appreciation from audiences and his fellow colleagues in the industry then i'm happy, he has already won awards for some of his performances, so if he doesn't get a national award then he isn't really missing out on anything

And same goes for Alia..Though I agree with the premise of Raazi that humanity is more important than violence, unrest or war..Current scenario all over the world demands strict actions against people spreading violence and hatred..N iron hand is the need of the hour to restore peace.

Except Alia, I agree with the rest. Ranveer definitely deserved it more than Vicky or Ayushman.

Wasn't there even a single movie better than Andhadhun in the whole indian cinema? Because honestly, Andhadhun is a strict average. Not a national award worthy for sure but then NA lost its worth when it awarded Saif for Hum Tum.

And URI wasn't even a 2018 movie to begin with. I guess next year, they will award Kangana for Manikarnika, can't award two patriotic flick at the same time. That's why Rangoli is so calm about it.

haha i havent even started on Manikarnika. Ofcourse Kangana is going to win. Its one of the few female led females that crossed 100 crores, its a monumental historical movie that we cannot ignore and we cannot just pretend that Kangana didnt deliver.

Both of Alia's parents are vocal against the BJP. She was never going to get a National Award. People were silly for expecting it.

The only way she can change that around is if she makes crores in public donations to the army and other pet causes like Akshay does.

then how does that make national awards credible as a film award ceremony? you have to support bjp to even be considered for the award? these awards should be based on merit, not on how much the film or the makers support the government

They are government awards so they are always going to have a political shade even though they shouldn't. Political institutions are always compromised and even more so in volatile countries like India.

Industry awards like the Oscars also have their biases but biases are still different from actual political control the way government based awards have. The same kind of BS goes on when it comes to Padma Shri and all that too.
