Haven't seen any movie of either of them..but saw interviews..Rakul with Ajay-Tabu and Tara with Tiger-Ananya.

And Rakul stood out..Tabu is anyways not very good with promotional interviews. She was laughing most of the times. And Ajay was being witty and sarcasm ki dukaan. Rakul was putting forth her views and I was impressed.

I just watched De De Pyaar De (I know super late) and I totally agree!!! I’m so smitten by Rakul Preet. Not only is she so damn gorgeous but her acting, expressions and screen presence is so on point.

I don’t find Tara Bollywood material at all. She’s dull, with no presence and quite frankly overhyped looks. I have no idea why she’s so hyped on this forum. Her looks just don’t effect me whereas anytime Rakul came on screen I was just wowed by her beauty. And people keep saying Rakul has extra experience, so what? This was not Tara’s first go at acting either, she used to do a Disney show as well.

@Bold Yeah where she was praised a lot and in fact, many people still remember as Vinnie. I saw SOTY too and didn’t think she was that bad. Jeez.

I prefer Tara over all the newcomers (of which Rahul is not a part of). She’s very beautiful and I’ve seen her work and I feel she’s a good actor. She was in grease the play and she was pretty brilliant as Sandy. I don’t think she got that with just her good looks. Just because you find her “lame” doesn’t mean thousands of other people with different opinions will also think the same.

Rakul isnt a debutante but she really impressed me in DDPD. Its also the first time I saw her on screen. It is challenging to perform so well opposite two great actors and Rakul held her own even in her scenes with Tabu.

It isnt fair to compare the two for these reasons- Rakul's character in the film wasn't screwed up to make someone else look superior and better and Rakul wasn't sidelined purposely in the promotions.

Tara was given the bad deal since the beginning. Her character in SOTY sucked, was shown to be a shallow ambitious girl. During the promotion, Ananya and Tiger had an entire song without Tara, but Tara's promotional song with Tiger had Ananya for no goddamn reason. But lol, Fakira has lesser views than Jatt Ludhiane Da. On the other hand Rakul was equally promoted along with Ajay and Tabu.

Tiger and Ananya made fun of Tara throughout the promotions. Tabu and Ajay didn't do that to Rakul.

I have watched Tara in the Disney shows and she was the best part of the otherwise horribly made over-acting karke maar di version of the best Disney sitcom ever made, Suite Life of Zac and Cody.

Although both the girls are stunning, I am just a bit more biased towards Tara ;)

Thats why I am waiting for Marr Jawaan and the RX 100 remake...those two films should help her prove her acting abilities.

Or maybe Tara would do better in the West, since she did English theatre, learned Opera and Western vocals...her path changed to Bollywood a few years ago.

to be honest, Taara was MORE VISIBLE in the trailer of soty2 than Ananya and seemed like the main lead while Ananya came across 2nd fiddle from the trailer. (have not seen promotions, interviews etc)

also I guess u r right...Taara does not seem fit for the hindi cinema screen...too urban, too poshed types

Sorry but Tara Sutaria was SABOTAGED by Karan Johar to fail. He purposely choose an "outsider" gave the outsider a role that no one can connect with/hate on purpose and then he purposely gave Ananya the feel sorry for me role. Ananya got better clothes, better role, better hair, better makeup, better dialogues and the boy too.

Its very clear what happpened. Tara is a gorg girl who was made bad on purpose.

This all a part of the Movie Mafia's plan- they want to show that star kids are better than everyone so they will pull down the likes of Kangana, Tara, Vidya etc.

Now you're telling me some aunty that did south indian movie is better than Tara? HAHAH Please. Give Tara 5 years and she'll be number 1 in no time. Tab Rakhul kya, Rani bhi kuch nahi hogi Tara ke Saamne.
