Of course avatar is a Sanskrit word and was used keeping its connotations in mind.

Dont for a second think that James Cameron is totally ignorant of Hinduism. Many hollywood bigwigs, legendary western music artists, movers and shakers from the Silicon Valley have explored Eastern philosophy and India has always featured on their self-discovery itinerary as early as that uni gap year. Hell they probably know more about it than the average Indian self-loathing youth who is scrambling in his quest of aping the west.

Do not ever think that they could've never come up with that title if it wasnt for Govinda!!!

He also mentioned that Slumdog Millionaire and some superhit Bollywood movies were offered to him which he let go...

Slumdog Millionaire was offered to a lot of bollywood stars, SRK even so that claim is believable. And Govinda did let go of roles in Devdas, Taal etc...

And please, its not about giving too much bhaav to HW walas! James Cameron has been a trailblazer. Whatever he did, others have copied, Wherever he went, others have followed.

He's a pioneer of hitherto uncharted territory in moviemaking!

Dont turn everything into an Indians and their complexes thingy.

And Slumdog Millionaire is not on the same level as an Avatar! SM might very well have been offered to him. It was offered to Bachchan and Sanjay Dutt also. it was based in India after all, and of course would've all Indian actors to show "look how poor and treacherous Indians are"!!

Slumdog was made to showcase India's poverty that's all. The jealous white man gets a ecstatic orgasm after watching pathetic rubbish movies like SM which dont even deserve Rotary Club Prize much less an oscar, just because they show India in a bad light.

^LOL! India was shown as it was. Poor. It still is poor overall. SM showed how life sometimes teaches you the answers to tough questions. Precisely because one is poor and has experienced shit in life, they are wise that the privileged sometimes never gets. When will we get over our poverty hatred? When will we have a different vision than the white man vision of what it means to be rich, developed and content. One can be poor yet all the basic needs can be met and people can be content.

As for Govinda, who knows. Let's ask Cameron no? Why the hatred on Govinda without knowing anything! The internet mob is getting on my nerves!

Everyone's learnt from Kango rani now. They know they can go on and lie and no one would even question it! This show sounds so shady.. wanna know what goes on behind the scenes. 😳

The base of Avatar is Hindu mythology and spirituality...It won't be a big surprise if the makers at that time looked towards India for research and talked to some actors from BW....not a big deal at all....so why are people being so sarcastic and unbelieving about someone from India being contacted for the movie? Its not as if Govinda was a nobody...He was a big star and a good actor.

Totally plausible.. but why exaggerate.. that "he declined" the lead role.. cuz he didn't want to be painted in Blue?! LOL It was all vfx.. 😆

That's what m asking. Why is Govinda not naming the sardar producer if he is so upset abt the trolling?

You cant randomly say, 'a sardarji approached me for such a huge Hollywood film'. Is he counting on the fact that there would be a random sardar who mustve produced the film, and that will give him credibility?

His statement seems so hollow. Is he afraid of naming the person? Ki kahi media usse puch na le?

And then hez openly assuming that he was a star so Cameron 'MAY HAVE' seen his films. Ofcourse, David Dhawan is Cameron's inspiration. 'No. 1' series dekh ke hi toh Cameron decided what he wanted to do in life.
