Evening...
Geet came back home with a heavy heart. She followed her daily routine absent mindedly.
Half an hour later...
Her brother was off to his tuitions and her mum was taking her nap... While Geet sat alone in their drawing room.
What she heard in the afternoon kept playing in her mind. All efforts of ignoring the gossip has failed. Her mood was off from that moment.
However hard she may try not to, her thoughts lingered around him only. She remembers how she used to give blank calls to him, at this time daily. How she used to wait for that chance.
A slight smile formed on her face with the memories, his talks. She remembers one such, really funny one....

Flashback
"Achha ye toh batao... Are you a girl or a boy..???? Hmmm??? "
Maan had asked with a mischief tone.
While she had frowned hearing his question, why he wants to know that???
"Arre... Itna kya sharmana... Bata bhi do?? " He spoke again as if teasing the caller. But all he got in response was silence.
"See.... If you are a girl, than toh it's okk. But if you are a boy, than dude plzzz..... I am not that kind of a guy... Really...So plzz... Save the trouble..!!! "
He had said it so cutely and in so serious voice, that she could actually visualize his face expressing total disapproval to the idea.
Later, after the call, she had laughed a lot on his imagination!

Present:
" Wo kya kar raha hoga ab?? " She wondered.
And soon that slight smile vanished from her face, replaced by a frown, as her subconscious mind tried to provide answer to her query...
"Will he be talking to that wingless pari??"
Geet didnt liked that thought one bit. The possibility of it being true pricked her heart.
But than its quite possible no?? They had exchanged numbers, they liked each other, & if the gossip is true.. Than ye toh hona hi tha!!
She felt uneasy with her own chain of thoughts. Did he even missed those blank calls which were kind of, entertaining for him too, that's what she had assumed with his response.
He didn't even know who was the person calling him daily!! And may be he won't be interested anymore in knowing it now. He has already got someone to keep his interest!!
As she continued to wander in her thoughts, her gaze kept moving to the land line again & again.
And next second, as if in a trance, she found herself reaching for it and dialing that number, Which she had pledged to forget forever, just last week.
She hadn't realized what she was doing, totally blank, she waited for the call to connect. Her trance broke when she heard the "engage tone" Instead of the ring.
Sudden rush of emotions over powered her. She was restless, disappointed, unwilling to even think of that obvious possible reason of the line being busy. Her mind knew what it would mean, but heart refused to acknowledge!
She cut the call desperately and dialed once again. And this time, the call got connected, raising her heart beats with each time it rang.
As Geet clutched the receiver tightly in her left hand, her right hands fingers crossed on their own accord, as a habit she had formed while waiting and praying for him to pick up the call.
Looks like babaji had some mercy on her finally, she heard his voice...
"Hello.. "
But it his voice didn't made her happy like it usually did. She gulped hard to ease the lump in her throat, an attempt to hold herself together.
Still a tear dropped, wetting her cheek, she didn't realized when her eyes filled up. It was, like a dam has been broken with his voice, dam of her emotions, her struggle.
"Hello.. "
She heard him again. She bit her lips harder, stopping herself, suppressing the urge to question him today. Not believing her self control anymore, she cut the call.
One after another, big fat tears started to roll down her cheeks, while she kept wiping them.
Hardly a few seconds had passed or may be a minute, when she was startled suddenly, as the landline rang in full volume, echoing in the silent house.
Geet, who was already in vulnerable state, felt numb for a second. And then for some reason or may be cause of her that fear of being caught, she started panicking!!
