And I guess somewhere he knows Prerna will be loyal to him, after giving him, her words to marry him that's why he gave her own time to come and sit beside him in mandap. Yes he knows that he will not make place in her heart according to her repeated pravachan (though we know exactly opposite hone wala hai)
