But anyway, I think the TRP is good considering that the show is new. However, I really think they should keep in account that a lot of people watch it online. I don't have cable, so I stream it on hotstar every morning, just after waking up 😂. If they start considering the online viewership, the TRP will be much much higher.

When will people understand that Hotstar viewership is like a pinch of salt in the big ocean called TV viewership! 🤦‍♂️🤦‍♀️

Only in Sony channel cvs don't have to work under trp pressure

Why sony TV has no trp pressure

That is a lie. Every channel works for profits. High TRPs is what gives them profits through more advertisements.

Sony’s daily soaps get very low TRPs compared to its weekend show and daily shows on other channels like StarPlus. So even is a show on Sony at 8 pm gets around 0.6 TRP, it can easily last a year. However if that show aired on StarPlus at 8 pm and got 0.6 TRP, then it wouldn’t last 3-4 months as StarPlus has a much wider reach than Sony and hence a much higher TRP is expected by the channel.

So yeah if the show aired on Sony and it got 0.3ish ratings, then even Sony would axe that show. Because according to Sony’s standards, 0.6 is good and 0.3 is bad.

One more thing: if a show aired on StarPlus and it got 1.5 ratings (say), one cannot say that the same show will get the same kind of ratings if it aired on Sony. For all you know, it might get 0.4-0.5 ratings on Sony.

Ya. Sony doesnt pressurise CVs. It straight away shuts down shows within 3-6 months if they dont do well.

Really? Sony's almost all primetime shows get trps below 1, still they are running. When KBC used to air on 9 pm slot , it always used to be in top 10 but now the daily soaps running on the same time slot don't even get 1. I haven't heard anything like Sony is planning to axe those shows. Also I haven't heard any nagin, daayan or chipkali shows are being aired on Sony. May be some shows run only for few months because this is how they were planned, but at least they don't compromise with their content for the trps.

What are you saying?

Sony's prime time shows change every 6 months. There are very few shows you will see that have over 1 yr airtime on Sony.

There was a recent show they shut down in 3 months. And no, these were not planned as finite shows. They had no trps so they shut it down. Even they have random drastic changes in storyline to woo audiences.

Even Colors does that. Their prime time shows change with every Bigg Boss. They retain their TRP pullers.

See this link, it mentions 2 shows that ended in 3-4 months: https://www.tellychakkar.com/tv/tv-news/bad-news-harshad-chopda-fans-sony-tvs-humsafars-end-150206

Even Sanaya had a show on Sony which was pulled off air pretty quickly. I can think of atleast 8-10 shows which were pulled off air. I don't remember their names coz I haven't watches these shows, just seen their promos. Just read articles abt them being axed.

I think Sony would rather show re-runs of CID all day than have low trp shows.
