It's not Shahid only though. He is a good actor.
But Love Story & Good music mostly work in India. Cherry on the cake is Shahid's acting.
Movie would have worked with other actor too. Might not have made so much money or might not have been able to perform as well as Shahid but it still would have worked. Kabir Singh's songs are all chart-busters.
Good music is lifeline of any BW movie. BW audience loves nice music. It always helps.
