I don’t disagree with you. I want prerna to work as welll. But she is 22 years old - and her life has gone through a big upheaval. She needs to be shown to start working in a realistic way.

If she was not married then as soon as she finished her college degree she would start working. A small job but like the owns most middle class girls start with.

But as a Basu Bahu, her path to working has to be part of a story line. There is not logical reason for her to basically start looking for secretarial jobs right at this moment. For me that would seem unrealistic.

From what I hve observed of these sort of families during my visits to India is that they expect their daughter in laws to do nothing until the daughter is law slowly realises as is young and bored and wants something to occupy herself. And this is in a hapoy situation. In an unhappy one, as Prerna’s will be, she will be forced to work soon.

It might be a clash of egos and self respect for her, but Sharma's have faced far far more humiliation than this. If we say veena reached a saturation with all this BS drama by mohini, and she doesn't want pre to go through that everyday, then it wouldn't take a second to break off the wedding but it would affect pre forever given that they are already married and this social marriage is just a show off to people who don't value them.

Instead, I would prefer veena asking Prerna to talk it out to Anurag and put things on hold, and make Mohini apologize in public or make a joint compromise.

Keeping aside the Komo track, Anurag has always stood up for Prerna, against anybody for that matter. If he doesn't then it is reasonable for pre to stay away rather than go through the torture.

In real life situations, we do have mohini's who are vile, but it's problematic when your partner doesn't give it back. This is something that I have seen from my experience. When you have someone always for you, then you can face any number of mohini's.

At the end, it's all about maintaining relations, not finding ways to break it off especially when your life is so dependent on each other !!

Yes this would have been a more consistent attitude for veena to take. And I dealt wish they had shown that instead of making it melodramatic. However I can see the logic in everyone having a breaking point.

I thought the same but i think Veenama is scared that when Mohini can stoop so low she can harm Pre in no time! She is in a very vulnerable position now, humiliated, scared, in jail n she is unable to think straight, the woman who was her daughter's pillar of strength fears for her daughter's well being!

The CVs are once again trying to emphasize that AnuPre are not married n thats why this dialogue from Veena so that they can show that without the social marriage AnuPre are not really married negating the entire Komo track!

I too wld have preferred if veena asked Pre to discuss with Anu rather than stopping the wedding coz thats what generally mothers do... When in trouble they ask us to discuss with our husband and not breakup with our husband!
