I don't understand why people are writing that Kabir should not have got a happy ending or that he should've repented. For what? What did he do? He loved her and wanted to marry her. Just took an injection of morphine and was out for 2 days. She got married. Tab tak toh I didn't think he was wrong really. For all his alcoholic and drug taking habits, he still didn't forget her. Didn't move on. It could be called an obsession but he didn't try to contact her either. So, it's not like he made her life hell. Just his own. He was just being honest with himself. When he saw her again, she wasn't happy. So, he wanted to get back together with her. I don't see anything wrong with that either. In fact, if he had moved on, he would've never known that Preeti left her marriage and was raising his kid alone somewhere. Preeti's life would've been destroyed. It is similar to Veer Zaara in this context that the lovers never give up on each other, not knowing that the other person is still waiting too. I'm happy he got his happy ending. This was the only positive ending that would've made sense to me. If he just moved on and accepted that he was wrong to hold on to her, that would've been such a lie for his character. The only way was for him to get together with her. I wasn't expecting her to have taken such radical steps though. That was cool.

Baki yes he was wrong to be drunk while operating on people, he got his license revoked for that. His addictions came to an end when his grandma died. He decided to move away from that. I don't think that he needed to repent for anything though. It wasn't a villainous character after all.

Her character was as pathetic

Ya agree with what u say. I m quite baffled that people who praised Ranveer to the sky for his portrayal of Khilji are bashing Shahid for taking up this movie .Khilji was a tyrant who destroyed many bcoz of his massive ego and lust. Padmavat glorified that villain..and people actually made fun of Shahid who portrayed the 'character' given to him as he was told to.

If u condemn one why glorify other..bash both equally. And if they r to be praised for their act..praise them equally.

I like Ranveer as a performer so m not a hater

Khilji didn't have a happy ending,he suffered , that's the difference I think. But Sanjay giving him so much screemspqce did make me uncomfortable. It did not look like he wanted to whitewash him,but that he enjoyed the evil more than the good

Not to mention a tyrant ruler coming to destroy us is not gonna happen in this era. But guys like Kabir r still there,n they make women's life hell everyday . The typical guy that doesn't take no as answer, molests u in the name of love, keeps u suppressed, will have anger outbursts then make u feel guilty for it, the chichoras who sing n make catcalls on the streets, the guys who claim a woman saying ye Meri bandi hai, without even asking her. Yesab roj dkhte h humlog aspas

Yes that’s the sad reality and I feel ya

But theoretically if the film is meant for adults only, adults are meant to have an understanding of good and bad, Sahi galat and not be as easily impressionable right?

if we as a society are indeed full of impressionable adults, that is an unfortunate state then...

Because every Bunty and Babli and dhoom will need to be shown with consequences....chori karna galat hai, jhooth bolna paap hai, harass karna paap hai...one would think it’s common sense rite for an adult? Irrespective of the consequences ...Sigh 😔

^Ya society is full of impressionable adults. You think a 21 yr old is an adult who knows everything and is wise enough? Also tell me why do adults act stupid all the time? It is sad indeed. Society is full of impressionable people who think Kabir’s love is pure love or some shit like that! Lol! This is why this movie is bad & needs to be criticized like no tomorrow regardless of how much money it makes.

Indian society is not at that stage sadly. I saw some American reaction channel our stupid reaction praising the film thinking it's a commentary on a bad character and should have had a different ending. While in comment section people r thanking them for praising it n how people r not realising it's a true love story and people don't understand Indian romance 😂😂 it's like someone praises joker for being a good villain n u think Batman n joker is a great love story. There r even comments like girls want to be treated like that, they just like to pretend they don't on social media.

Given this mindset and the rate of crimes against women in the country, filmmakers need to be more responsible I feel. The tone of the movie didn't have the disturbing aura to it, it kind of romanticized everything.

A friend of mine went to theatre to watch it and guys in theatre literally said arey bro bro boht hard when he said he Meri bandi hai🤢

Also Kabir is so unlikable in the movie that I didn’t feel anything for him , happiness or sadness which makes the ending more shitty

^^ I see ur point as to how ppl can miss the bus😔...

That American guy got the movie coz he didn’t think of the pure love...lol

Tbh even if his love was pure ( it probably is, he was pretty committed to her despite long distance and a few years of courtship) , the point was his behaviour is not excusable that’s why he lands up in the shit he does
