His offline personality does evoke extreme reactions? I see most people on Bollywood forums to be put off by his arrogant cocky attitude except for his fans maybe.
Not only that even most people I have met in real life who I have discussed him with seem to despise him for the same.
I still think there is less negativity around him..
IF standard r different but here too people may dislike him but no one hates him.
Like no one calls him names like joker, clown, sociopath, fake abs, flop star, budhha, etc.
So no die hard fans or haters
Just like how Saif, Abhishek, Emraan, Farhan, etc., are still getting roles despite numerous flops. Maybe not solo films but bollywood needs performers like Shahid and above mentioned actors who bring their best in every role. There is a reason why guys like Imran Khan or Neil Nitin Mukesh fizzled out quickly.
Imran stopped doing films himself bcos of the need to socialise.
The same reason John is getting films, same with Irrfan, or Nawaz. If producers decide to only cast bankable stars in their movies then Bollywood will only release maximum 10 films a year. Shahid is an insider, but talented, so no one calls him out on nepotism either.
He is talented actor but that is not the only reason why he gets hired. He gets hired coz he is Ranbir kapoor level performer coming at the price of Arjun Rampal.
If it will make u happy there's a pinkvilla article about how Shahid is unemployed right now 😆

@bold word!
On one hand IF members go on criticizing and complaining about Nepotism and on the other hand good excellent actors who are not product of Nepotistic are also criticized!
Donno what criteria they see for actors.
Shahid is one of the most versatile and great performer in the industry and is good looking, but still people will go on criticizing him as well.
I think the problem lies with Shahid is that he is not consistent in doing good movies in a row.
Also after Jab We Met, i believe had Shahid done more of romantic movies in the same genre, then his position would have been different today. But then at the same time we would not be able to see his experiments in movies.
And yes he does have a loyal fanbase but yes maybe not die hard fans/haters per say.
Also he does not belong to any camp in the Bollywood industry.
Despite him being an exceptional actor and dancer he is not offered movies from big budget camps unfortunately. This says a lot about the Bollywood industry as well.

Insider and there are some idiots who think he is still a youngster, so they are like ''Ladke mai talent hai, next SRK''.Plus there is another breed of fool who think he was equally responsible for Padmavat's success.
If anyone who has worked hard from bottom up is Shahid despite being insider.
You can calls producers and directors fools n all other reasons but at least credit guy for the hard work he has put in to come this far after starting as background dancer initially.
Shahid is decent actor. That’s one reason according to me that he gets movies. Plus he does put in efforts.

Bcoz his movies haven't made huge losses.
His performance has always been appreciated.
He has a good fan base and his offline personality doesn't evoke any extreme reactions from people.
There is my generation people who were teens when Shahid’s “Aankho mein tera HI Chehra” came out and then Ishq Vishk. Majority of this gen will always have that soft corner, likability for him.
Plus guy mostly does mid budget movies. I mean not all movies are high budget that you can afford bankable actors.
Shahid is the best example of 'Kam kharch bala nasheen'. He is the best choice for low budgeted movies vying for recognizable handsome leads right now.
Ranbir and Shahid, despite their back to back flops never got snubbed and imo the reason is their performance in each film. I don't remember Shahid ever getting a negatie comment for his acting. He has always been praised highly even for the flops.
Good performance is enough to satisfy the directors I guess and approach them again.
Plus Shahid still has a low key loyal fanbase.
