It's a Bengali customs, fish is auspicious for bengaalis.

Like suta said, veena should be aware of that.

But being aware and actually seeing fish is different,i guess.

But let me aks, for vegetarians, only eating is forbidden right, are they forbidden from being close to raw meat too.
