Great write up. it is amazing how you guys can give such a great comic twist to it.
If any of us thought that Rakesh is a changed man who favored the career of his son over his daughter, than it is time to rethink. Before Rakesh was imposing upon Arjun and now he has moved on to Sameer. The only difference is that Arjun used to say Yes Papa & No Papa as per Rakesh’s need and Sameer verbally retaliates but eventually gives in Rakesh Papa for the love of his wife.
Preeti had my heart yesterday. It does feel bad when someone tries to put the damper on ones dreams. However, I found Preeti as a very savvy girl yesterday – she did not let their negative answer dampen her spirit but instead used her tactfulness to gain grounds with her husband & her Saas. I loved it how she got the upper hand by letting others win but still managed to plant the seed of thought in their little minds. Mr. Economics actually has logic behind being a miser– if one had to carry the financial burden of four women all by himself in the Metro like Mumbai, anybody would become penny-pincher like him. Only if he could foresee that Preeti is potentially opening the door for supplementary income for the household by joining the beauty school … Anyways, who has the power to stop the winds of change?
Naina is currently learning to tread on the thin ice when she says “mujhe tum pe poora bharoa hai”. Average looking overweight girls like Shibani hitting on Sameer brings smirk on her face but when she overhears the ladies talking about the hero ditching his family for heroine, her insecurities goes into full gear. Of course, after 25 years it is easy to say “mujhe hansi aatihai” knowing how things didn’t take adverse turn for them. I am glad that the college incidence was brought but like Uma I also say Sameer’s chota dil doesn’t justify it.
Overall the episode was good. Just like the ticker reads smoking is injurious to heart when they show actors smoking on screen, they should bring ticker that reads too much chocolate is injurious to teeth. I am telling you, this chocolate fetish is going overboard nowadays. The CVs should try something new now. Besides, after living in the US for so long, I don’t find chocolate a novelty anymore – my palate asks for Desi Sweets instead.
Like always title was thought provoking – whether Ross writes it or Uma. We all have out take on it and it made me recall this poem by Najma Anjum –
I was caged
As the lies I uttered,
Trapped me in those walls of falseness,
Once I tried unveiling the truth,
Magic began in response,
It freed me!
