I know alot of people here don't like Mickey because he seems like a Romeo, especially because of how he behaved with Minnie during the Holi sequence and his girlfriends before that. But HS thought beating his wife was the way to go before Imarti taught him it was wrong. He had turned into an alcoholic (he did have a reason to drown his sorrow in a bottle, I know) till Babes and Minnie entered his life.
Mickey may be wrong in some ways, but who isn't? He's 18 (or around that age). He will learn. He has learnt with Minnie.
He respects his mother and kept her swear without caring about anybody mocking him for it (it would bother a normal teenager). He double dated, but we haven't seen him around any girl since Minnie entered his life. He doesn't try to stake claim on her anymore, he was genuinely happy when she got Bobby back (even Preet).
He dealt with HS (who can be a scary man, especially being a police officer) just to stick by Minnie despite being berated by her so many times. He cared about her enough to tie her bandage for the karate competition despite their fight at the time. He stuck by her when her best friend turned her back on Minnie. He cared enough about Minnie to come to her house and try to put a smile on her face. He can calm her down (which even her mother can't do sometimes).
He was ready to fight with Manmeet for Minnie and still chose to go after his friend because he knew she needed him at the time. He warned her against cyber bullying/crime in the best way possible. He stuck around to promote PB catering and also made them a website/Facebook page.
He might still harbour feelings for Minnie, but he put them on the backburner to be her friend and her support when her family and friends didn't stick by her.
I understand if you don't want to see a love angle/triangle between him and Minnie and/or Preet. But don't judge him by who he was. People change, especially kids. This show is realistic so let's enjoy this character's development and arc.
