Why is Salman-Karishma pair so underrated?

I don't get it, they shared such a natural and lovely chemistry and they looked absolutely stunning together. They did so many films and most of them were hits. Still, they are nowhere to be found in the best jodis list and hardly anyone mentions them when listing down the best jodis. Instead, I always see Salman-Aishwariya pair popping up. These two also made a great pair but they did just one movie together unlike Salman-Karishma.

SRK-Kajol are also mentioned in every single list but Salman-Karishma shared an equally good chemistry, if not better (imo they were better) than them. SRK-Kajol also didn't do any great content films either so I don't understand the hoopla surrounding them. All of them were Kjo films which are absolutely shitty while Salman-Karishma films are hugely entertaining.

Both are terrible actors. Their movies were mostly David Dhanwan brainless comedies. She replaced Govinda with Salman because at the time Salman added more star value. She was mostly a flowerpot in the Govinda films. In Salman films she played a similar character over and over. It’s like saying Akshay-Katrina are an underrated pair.

No one thinks Karishma is a terrible actress. She was good. She won a National award and 4 Filmfare awards. So how is she terrible?

Also, all the actresses in the 90s and until recently had flower pot roles in films so I don't understand your point at all. About the brainless masala entertainers, it's not like SRK-Kajol were in great content films.

People still love Katrina-Akshay as a pair and were so happy to know that they are coming back together in Sooryavanshi so I don't understand that point either.

According to many they have. They are constantly played on TV and their movies are far more entertaining than SRK-Kajol movies made by the one and only Karan Johar.

I loved them in Biwi No.1 other than that the only other movies I remember them in were Chal Mere Bhai which was pathetic, Dulhan hum le jayege (not as bad as chal mere bhai and not as good as Biwi no.1) and Judwaa (but their chemistry wasn't the highlight of the movie imo).

It's not about movies aging well most of Anil-Sridevi movies haven't aged well either except Lamhe. But there was something that gelled so well with them I can't explain it. Sadly Salman Karishma don't have the same appeal atleast for me.

Many do love them. I know few here who are fans of this couple. I love their chemistry. Karishma was my most fav actress of 90s. I still love her and wish her the best <3. I think most 90s kids do love them, but they aren’t mentioned as much as Salman-Ash in the news/articles. Here though they do get mentioned when it comes to Salman’s best chemistry threads.

they paired up in silly comedies and bhai has been doing the same thing since his career started, no1 took any of his pairing seriously they all had to get out there and had to prove themselves..

Karishma did the right thing to do Fiza when CHAL MERE BHAI bombed, she realized that she will never any respect if she continues to work with chi chi or govinda..

the woman made the right choice and gave some amazing performances in Fiza, Shakti, Zubeidaa which she can be proud for the rest of her life.

oh yes : the only one i can think where ppl took bhai's pairing seriously was with Bhagyashree, but she ended her career even before it could ever take off

I personally prefer Sallu-Karishma movies like DHLJ and Judwaa over Kajol SRK blockbusters, but my personal view and people universally loving these movies is different thing. This isn't like HANK vs DDLJ thing, where a genuinely more popular HANK is sidelined by biased media and PR machinery.
