Kjo Opens up abt Takht being compared to SLB’s movies

Ever since Karan Johar announced his ambitious project Takht, fans have been eager for the multi-starrer period drama. Many even wondered how Karan will go through with the project, comparing it to Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s previous projects. It is a well-known fact that he is a huge SLB fan.

In an interview with DNA, when asked about the same, Karan revealed, “I have been asked that and other such questions. While I am a huge fan of SLB, as someone who loves his work, I understand that he has set the benchmark already. However, I am hoping that what I do with Takht will be completely individualistic. Takht will have its own energy and charm.”

Talking about his ambitious project on No Filter With Neha, the director said, "Takht is the most passionate piece of material that I think I will ever direct. I’m hugely passionate about it. I’m obsessed about the Mughal era ever since I can remember.

"That’s the one part of history that I was obsessed about in terms of its visual texture, its controversial content, the political betrayal, the love, the lust, the decadence, the debauchery, the madness, the violence, everything. That era is exotic and it’s gorgeous. It’s absolutely beautiful."

Recently, Karan took to his official social media handle and posted a few video’s showing the ongoing Takht preparations. Check out the video below:

After his last directorial Ae Dil Hai Mushkil, starring Ranbir Kapoor, Anushka Sharma, and Aishwarya Rai Bachchan, failed at the box-office three years ago, Karan is all set to return with Takht.

The movie already has high hopes with the movie as it stars Kareena Kapoor Khan, Ranveer Singh, Alia Bhatt, Vicky Kaushal, Bhumi Pednekar, Anil Kapoor and Janhvi Kapoor in lead roles. Takht is a historical drama and will reprise a chapter from the Mughal era.

In Takht, Anil Kapoor is reportedly playing Mughal Emperor Shah Jahan. Ranveer Singh and Vicky Kaushal will be seen as his sons Dara Sukoh and Aurangzeb, respectively. The movie is set to release in December 2020.

Please stop talking about Takht, kjo. You clearly have no idea what you are talking about so stop pretending otherwise. Hope you hired a good team of people who are passionat about telling the story of Mughal era, because it is evident that you have no passion but an obsession to prove that you can do what SLB can do. This is just an ego project for you and a vanity project to showcase your nepos.

The Dharma team is incompetent. Look at the shoddy research and execution they did for Kalank. They can only make frivolous films.

Sumit Roy is the writer, no? Maybe all the backlash and mockery really got to kjo that he is making sure the script is historically accurate. Anyways on paper takt maybe the best script but more than the script it is the execution which will be messed up..kjo should hire someone to ghost direct.
