Box Office India Star Rankings April 2018 - Salman Khan Tops

Salman Khan remains the top ranking star by a distance and this lead is sure to be expanded with Bharat unless something goes badly wrong. The two actors that stick out below are Shahrukh Khan and Hrithik Roshan as the box office is not reflecting their real popularity. Its a case of bad films which get reflected in the opening itself.
The gains were made by Ajay Devgn and the point tally of 553 points is his highest since the rankings started in 2010. The big change has come in Overseas where Ranveer Singh is number one based on the numbers as he has 1264 points compared to the 1244 of Salman Khan. This is because Padmaavat and Gully Boy took a extraordinary and excellent start respectively. Shahrukh Khan is third and has 941 points but still will be the biggest star Overseas (excluding China and other second phase releases). Being just 300 points of the top with a run of films being below expectations pretty much tells that.
The April rankings below are for India (February points in brackets) and completely based on opening box office numbers with holiday factors taken out and films which are technically guest roles or small releases left out. The criteria for the rankings below is here.
