Its definitely an inspired version but I just like it alot more.

I guess it depends on which age group you belong to. ZNMD wins by a slight margin for me but DCH's songs are superb. I never get bored listening to DCH soundtracks.

I think both the movies are the best ones in their respective years of release. I was in grade one when DCH released, so I could not understand the movie at many levels, but when I watched the movie after growing up, i found it to be excellent, especially the dynamics between Sid and Tara. The movie also had great music, it definitely is a timeless classic.

However, I love ZNMD more, this movie had everything for the youth, and the dynamics between the friends were much more deep and layered compared to DCH. ZNMD was about the self discovery of three people, the journey was beautifully executed with some beautiful songs too. And hands down, the dialogues were fabulous, so yes ZNMD wins for me.

ZNMD is my favourite between the two. DCH is also really good but I didn’t really like the 2nd half. It focused too much on Aamir Khan’s character. I would have wanted to see more of Dimple/Akshay and Saif/Sonali relationships.

In ZNMD, the character development was really good and it kept the focus on the 3 friends. I can keep watching the movie over and over again and never get bored.

Both movies have awesome music but still have a preference for DCH’s music.

DCH any day! It was a cult classic n is probably my fav BW movie. Only thing I didn’t like was too much focus on Aamir’s love story. ZNMD was heavily inspired by it but lacked depth. I couldn’t connect to any of the characters or their friendship.
