Recap (since it's been a long time from the last part)

Maan and geet are suppose to be remarried to each other but they are also friends from school and college meeting after a gap of 7 yrs, though Maan secretly loved geet he never got to tell her that.

Maan also has an adopted kid, 4 yr old Antara. Now they are already engaged and spending time together as elders finalize their wedding date.

Maan took geet to meet antara's adoption authorities where she had to undergo an aptitude test in order to obtain no objection for continuation of her adoption which was successful.

Part 16

"Wo geet we are going to pick Antara from her school"

He told her as they were near the school to give her some time, though he held the information that Antara now knew about her, a little surprise won't hurt now, would it?

Geet smiled, a hundred thoughts running in her head. She had the feeling of overcoming one more hurdle in her relationship with Antara, they are already good friends; hopefully she takes the new relationship in a positive way. But not sure when Maan will tell her about this, mere saamne ya baad me....?

She looked at him trying to convey the questions through her eyes, he looked back at her with smile, she was not sure if he read her confusion, she smiled back not sure if she can already ask him directly or it was way too presumptuous.

Her haze of contemplation lifted when car stopped, she looked around to find many cars parked around and a big black gate few meters away.

She opened her door and was about to get out when he held her hand. She looked at him questioningly,

"Wo geet you can't go in, will you pls wait here."

When she didn't seem to catch up, he showed her a plastic card which had his passport size picture and mentioned maan's name along with antara's, her class and their relationship.

"Security..."

He explained and she nodded closing her door back as he left mumbling 10 minutes.

Maan stood outside the building waiting for Antara, her school was already over he heard the bell while entering. He zoned out while waiting, to be brought back by a light tug in his pants.

"Papa"

"Yes antara"

He took her bag, and she already started her mischief. She walked around Maan as if looking for something.

Maan also took a round amused as to what she wants then picked her up in his arms and she gave a pointed look.

"kya hua"

"Mamma"

"Mamma... What mamma?"

He feigned innocence as if he doesn't know what she's talking about.

"Papa batao na Mumma kaha hai...?"

She started hitting his shoulder with her feather soft hands.

"Achha ruko ruko papa Ko lag Rahi hai..."

She stopped immediately and started blowing air on him where she hit. She forgot everything and now busy in soothing him. Maan smiled and said discreetly in her ear.

"Waise Mumma car me hai...”

Before he could finish his sentence, she jumped in his arms and he had to let her down

"Antara ruko... Don't run."

He walked behind in fast pace to make sure she doesn't fall.

Maan reached near the passenger side of car and smiled seeing a frowning Antara there.

"kya hua?"

He said deliberately,he very well knew that she was unable to reach the handle of his SUV. He lifted her again as she spread her arms asking him to carry her.

"kaha tha na mat bhago...”

He scolded her lightly.

"Mumma..."

Which only fell on deaf ears, he shrugged and knocked on the door. However, he was surprised when geet rolled down the window glass rather than opening the door, shit! I left the car in neutral.

Before he could dwell more on that thought he found Antara jumping again in his arms

"Mummmmaa"

She was already hanging on the window with upper part of her body hugging geet and lower half still in his arms.

"Antara aaram se, aap kya kar rahe ho, lag jayegi."

But he smiled a little seeing his little one's excitement and geet's surprise. She looked at him as if to confirm what she heard was right? Maan blinked at her silently assuring her she smiled back, it reflected her relief, gratitude, and excitement all at once. He was amazed at her ability to express so much with just a small smile or was it him? He was reading too much into all her gestures.

Geet couldn't believe that he'd already told Antara about them. But when? How? Why didn't he tell her before? Obviously she took it well; she is hugging me like I’ll run away. Though geet's neck was in antara's chock-hold, her hairs were getting pulled from her rubber band as well but right now she didn't care, until...

"aaa... Mumma."

Antara had released one of her hand from geet and accidentally pressed button and now the window was rolling up making her squished.

Geet immediately released the button from her hands and rolled the window back down and Maan pulled her immediately, he was hugging Antara tightly panicking.

"Baby you okay? Aapko lagi to nahi?"

He was checking her everywhere hands, legs, stomach all over. Geet came out of the car and she too caressed her back and hands to check if she were hurt.

"kaha tha na maine aapse ki aise mat karo. Dekho chot lagi na?"

His voice was raised out of fear and concern but little girl wouldn't know that, she thought he was scolding her, she was almost teary and jumped from his hands

"Antara"

"Mumma... Dekho papane mujhe daanta"

She was now in geet's arms complaining about her dad.

Geet looked at him closing his eyes as he realized that Antara was jumping to geet, she knew he wasn't scolding her but he was still worried.

"Maan, I'm sorry. Wo meri wajah se over excited ho gayi aur ye sab."

He smiled at her care and attempt to divert Antara.

“It's okay geet. Ye toh disaster queen hai, din me 10 Baar chot lagati hai."

He patted antara's head lightly and she teased him by showing her tongue.

"Okay let's go."

He moved to the driving seat.

"Antara what are you doing? Peechhe ja ker baitho"

He told her to sit in the back as she was sitting on geet's lap in passenger seat. In response his princess only hugged geet tighter.

"mujhe Mumma kepass baithna hai."

"We can't go like this."

When both of them didn't seem to budge, geet said hesitatingly

"Rehne dijiyena"

"Geet."

"Can't we?"

"No. It's not a matter of joke. It's against traffic rules so it's not happening."

"Rules? Really? Do you want me to remind you how many rules you have broken?"

He looked away for a second. Obviously she's talking about when he was a rebellious teenager. But he'sway past that now.

"Well geet maybe I didn't hold rules high in the past. But this is more about our safety, and when it comes to both of you I'm not taking any chances. Antara come on now."

Antara knew by that it was final, he's not going to budge she still looked at geet with big eyes as if hoping she will change her dad's mind. Geet didn't have in her to break her little baby's heart. She looked around for some inspiration and that's when it hit her. She opened her door.

"ab tum kaha ja Rahi ho? Geet. We are getting late yar."

And to his horror she opened the back door and settled inside with Antara still in her lap. Maan gaped at her open mouthed when she told him as a matter of fact.

"We can go now;we are not breaking any rules."

Maan blinked his eyes,opened his mouth but no word came out so he closed it back. His wife (would be)and his daughter made him a driver. Great. What a great day. He was so loss of words that he just turned around and started driving in trance.
