Actually I think it is the opposite...people who defend her do it to appear cool and show that they are different from the herd kyunki genuine fans toh gin chunke uske do ya teen hain yahaan. Alia ko agar sirf doosre actor ke fans call out karte privilege ke liye toh ek baat hain and you could have called it blind hatred but when an actor like Aishwarya calls her out or someone like Twinkle taunts KJo about it how can you deny that her privilege is unlike any seen before. When you can call up an Abhi Varman and force him to cast you in the film or ask Papa to call up Zoya and speak on your behalf cause you feel Zoya dislikes you, you show yourself to be nothing but a pampered brat who has not faced an iota of struggle even in comparison to other nepo kids.

Maybe we who defend her are indeed wannabe cool smart asses, and Alia deserves all the hate, but it is also true that people tend to overreact when it comes to Alia, whether it is her professional stuffs or personal. And most of it is behti ganga mai haath dhoona.

As for Kalank... the less it is said the better. She is the main cause the movie is that big of a mess.

If I'd rate actresses, I'd say she's a 6 or 7... neither bad nor extra good.

Acting wise. I'd rate Radhika Apte and Bhumi above her(from newer lot). Taapsee maybe even, too (yet not totally convinced). Shraddha is as good as her- though she isn't as hyped.

IF I had to get one of the 'new girls' to represent India... I'd probably choose Radhika- she has shown more versatility. Bhumi is starting to get some good roles in that vein, too..but has very few movies (again, she has no chance to showcase her talent, she got only 4-5 movies, cause she's not KJo's main fave to get as many BIG movies -and 'meaty' roles- handed to her).

Re critics: everyone can see some of those are paid. It's ridiculous, the way they go on about her. I don;t listen to critics- I make my own mind about actors. Also, some critics might favour her cause they.. dunno.. have some connect with her fam?? or want a nepo kid to be big?? No clue.. but that's a person's opinion, so it's subjective..and critics in BW can be ..'swayed'..

You really think critics can be "swayed" and are payed to write good reviews on her? is this a popular belief that karan makes people write good things about her and has so much influence over others? if he does..wouldnt this be corruption?

I just find that very hard to believe. I like to know what happens behind scenes but i cant undercredit her as an actress just becasue there are speculations about the praises she recieves.

I agree with you that she has it easy, but I am not sure where line is drawn when taking credit away from her either or blaming her for her success either. isnt it karan's fault for spoon feeding her if he does, and not hers?

Yes I do think critics can be swayed. Honestly, power plays in BW are way too obvious.. Swayed by: 'gentle pressure' such as nice gifts, invitations to prestigious events, some honourary stuff gifted.... stroking their ego.. or by using the 'debt' thing: 'you do me this favour, I do you a favour when you need.. or I'll trade gossip or info on X,Y,Z'.

I have also explained that maybe some are enthralled there's a nepo kid with talent (maybe they like cronyism, so all can stay within known circles no new stars buut nepo kids, no new critics to 'cut' into this critic 's bussiness). Or maybe they simply like Alia and her parents and consider her quitte good..and just exagerate a little.

She's had it easy and not only that..she has tried to grab every good role in a big movie in recent tiimes. that's what people despise. The underhand methods of getting this roles.. the fact that she doesn't FIT some of these roles at all, and the GREEDINESS.
