Colors are busy promoting the two new shows. No other new show will come before the last week of June (3 weeks after kasam2 for promotions)

IMO Shakti will be the last to end, it served the channel well for a very long time. I think they'll keep one of their old shows a bit longer, either Shakti or Udaan. Udaan can be stretched longer but Shakti is still in Colors good books.

There are two weekday shows in the pipeline, the mythokogical show was reported to be a weekend one (it'll probably replace courtroom) and they have been shooting it since April last year, so no one knows when it'll be ready.

IMO IMMJ and Udaan are next in line, Kesari should go for leap soon. I don't know how Jhansi could turn its performance around. IPL is like survival of the fittest, the good shows don't get affected and the weak shows suffer, so even after IPL number may increase but the gap between Colors shows and SP/Zee will remain big.

Agreed Colors probably cancelled GPA because of the awful performance of their shows. I remember VJ saying that he thinks it got cancelled in his IWMbuzz live chat.

The only show from 8:00 to 10:00 Colors would try to change its time slot to keep on air is Shakti, the rest of them never did as well as Colors wanted and more importantly none is from a big PH or has superstars so that the channel will fight to keep on air.

IMO IMMJ and Shakti have exhausted their stories and have nothing new to offer, while Udaan's story is so bland and unoriginal that it isn't worth exploring, not to mention that it has nothing to do with the original concept of the show.

But actually Ekta shows are hits in SP and Zee but except Naagin,I don't think bigger hits from Ekta happened to Colors that much.

In fact compared to previous seasons,Naagin was not successful this year as it used to got above 4 ratings and a weekend show getting around 2 is average performance unlike weekday shows because it's the count for 5 long days.

There are marginal hit shows like Kasam or Meri Ashiqui etc and they got good ratings for a very brief period.

I doubt the upcoming new 2 shows are interesting much to overcome Colors current low phase let's see !

@bold I was thinking the same Ekta's biggest success are on Zee and SP, her recent Colors shows apart from Naagin were just ok, even on SP she had some misses like Pardes and Qayamat and only the reworking of her old show worked.

I don't have high expectations from the two show but Colors probably think they'll both be top 10 shows.

I think Colors will stretch Udaan new gen story a little bit more , I think this is one of their least expensive shows now. Especially compared to Jhansi and Sakthi with its frequent foreign shoots. None of the Udaan actors are big stars and Colors will be happy to keep the show on air for a bit longer. IMMJ definitely on its way out I think. And if not Sakthi maybe GB

But something behind the curtains for sure as during TAM ratings time,most of the Ekta shows were not doing well.

And Diya baati was topper.

But once BARC appears most of the Ekta shows working well and that too without much fluctuations in ratings ( bhagyas for example)

And in the first week itself during BARC,Diya baati the topper fell into 10 or 11 th position.

And even Sony reality shows that was doing bad during TAM got good ratings now with BARC.

And SP was the topper during TAM and Colors too doing well but Zee or Sony doing poor.

But once BARC came,Zee shows starting to do well.

SP had a very bad phase for a longer time and currently Colors going through such a bad phase.

Don't know what is the game behind the doors as it's audience and their choice or the ratings itself rigged and favouring the biggies in industry !!

Never care about udaan now but seems its stable and safe since its rivals are doing same way as it is.

colors for sure going through a rough patch , surely bcoz of its lame decisions and this ratings, I never understand, though some shows trp looks like favoured, some really gained trp true to its content, hav raised based on content, udaan itself an example.

Even these 2 new shows, I doubt how fate would be bcoz colors as a channel in itself as lost credibility it seems.. so not sure how people will tune in into colors leaving their old shows

but Ekta may get it. And if as bini said, BARC favouring biggies happens behind doors, then they may have a decent trp. lets see how it goes. I think supernatural/horror genre also lost its charm..so how Kavach does , we have to see.

The trp system itself confusing.

And about favouritism and all,I feel only biggies shows getting high trps for long years without ups and downs.

How can people watch it without disapproving any tracks and slow pace of the story too ?

But for shows like Udaan like small ph,if show doing well,then we can find fluctuations in it.

Never they are stable like few.

I mean here people liking and disliking tracks but for few other shows,people are watching anything they are shown !!

And there were various reports on media how rigged the system and how the households keeping the monitoring boxes were presented with money and gifts to make them switch on TV on a particular time schedule and all.

But problem is that we cannot generalise anything as these people( the lobby, biggie producers or channel representatives or whoever) too much clever in handling and make us confuse only and not able to reach a conclusion.

They are trying to make the system look normal but certain things are there make us doubting but people let it go thinking it's their tactics and biggies business excellence !!
