Kjo does not need to fear Dabangg 3

Gone are the days when Salman or any khan can make bad movies work . With Prabudheva directing , it is certain to be trashed at least by critics and most probably even by public. If brahmastra works , it would be Salman's biggest defeat and Ranbir's biggest win

Unfortunately Salman doesn't frequent this forum.

Sallu ko January 2nd week mein release karna tha. Aaj kal Dec wali business Jan pe hoti hai.

It depends how good are both in their respective category.

If Dabangg 3 has a good plot and it's well executed, bringing the massy feel, then they will get the money back and more- heard it's done on 80 cr, so there's no massive budget to be worried about.

If Bramhamster has a good subject and is well executed, considering it took 2 years to make on a 150-200 cr budget, then they should recover their sums, too.

Sometimes clashes bring hype. But content will win after a day or two.

When BM and Dilwale clashed even with DW being trashed they still made their budget back AFAIk ( maybe even had a bit of profit).

Yes Bajirao would have gone over 200cr without clash and maybe Dilwale would have done more.. who knows?

Honestly?NONE -as directors to these subjects. Ayan would be good doing WUS types andPrabhudeva maybe on dance movies..

Ayan is going kakacrazy with this fantasy- he 's good with slice of life stuff and waxing lyrical about main hero in small budget like WUS. And spending 200 cr??? when all the superhero indian movies are a fail- besides Rajnikanth-?|Ranbir is no Rajni and will never be.. he doesn't have that 'massy' appeal. IMHO>

Rememeber GOS director A.Kashyap getting big funds for Bombay Velvet and wasting it on fluff and movie bombing? Ayan's on same length (there''s rumours producers are unhappy with the product starting from last year and have asked for reshoots- and that' must be worrying for Ayan and team -as reshoots means delays and they increase budget/costs).

The risks are huge with superhero movies (IMO they try be a blend of HW and BW- and fail)- see Flying Jatt, Bhavesh Joshi, even Det Blomkesh Bakshi (SSR's movie).. I loved V. Motwane 's 'Udaan' and 'Lootera', yet superhero movie Bhavesh Joshi was a thumbs down for most. Same will happen here, I feel.

Whenever Alia praises a movie to the skies I feel there's a lot of questionable stuff she tries cover with hype (I feel she gets fooled by sheer spectacle and doesn't get that the story must be well told and everything to gell well- basically, all show no substance, like with Kalank..which she was praising as being best/biggest historical. Now Alia praises Brahamster as best Hindi movie, better than Bahubali !!- there's her words/quotes in the Bramster thread- ......I mean, rlly??...)

I might be able to accept that Ayan could make a somewhat good superhero movie. But Ayan doing a movie that's better than Bahubali? Ayan better than Rajamouli?>Get out of here, Alia!

Prabhudeva I don't trust.. well I am not going to go into the whys- too many.. he's good coreo/dancer not a good director.. HE's also got me thinking: MEH. On his side is the franchise of Dabanngg and the smaller budget to recoup, plus the well known fact that Salman's worst movies manage to do over 100 cr..so he's assured to recoup the budget.

Also there's a bigger gap since the last Salman cop movie- and his fans have been clamouring for one since ages- there's a frenzy on SM about this.

BUT: one has 80 cr budget and one has 150-200. The smaller budget is easier to recoup -and Salman's movies do 150 cr even when not great.. so their side is covered. Also Dqabbang is franchise and has a lot of intererst.

Thinking- final : ok, my bet is on Dabhang 3. with Salman's fans rushing ion, smaller budget and being part of franchise, D 3 will make enough. Brahmaster still looks the riskier project.
