This makes no sense whatsoever. If it was clear last year that it has a mediocre script then why not change it then while it's still in the early stages of production? Did KJo and Nadiadwala not listen to anyone's warnings? Or was this a case of simple arrogance, overconfidence, and over estimating your own and your stars' value? Is this why they also put it 9 days before Avengers?

Suddenly it makes sense why both those big films were announced before Kalank's release. Extra hype for Alia and Kalank. But it might have been a better PR move make the announcements after Kalank. That way it could be said that Alia's stardom and status isn't affected by Kalank's debacle. Hindsight I guess. This is why I think no one thought it would get trashed this badly.
