I agree, in terms of dignity and strength Padmaavat (based on a poem) was portrayed stronger. Kangana did a great dis-service to Rani-Laxmi Bai(based on a historical figure). It is ironic the same people who critique Sati in Padmaavat applaud the same ending in manikarnika.

The movie is indeed crap, a shameful mediocre job, with copied scenes and sets. cinematography wise, content wise historically and most of all the digital work is horrid, in a country that is trying to compete in the world as being ahead of the curb. I would be ashamed to show it as an example of work.

How many of you really believe the real Queen disrespected her mother-in-law, acted out in front of her husband the king and how many of you believe she went to dance and gesticulate with the common folks? During that time in India? The Rani was known for becoming a fighter when she had no choice NOT before. Also for those of you who talk about silly roles for the females, Kangana had on fake eyelashes, more make-up than a two bit wh**e and the entire film was spent posing. All of you should be offended that it was not done better, for the sake of vanity and ego kangana destroyed the movie.

It was a FLOP at the box office, the only thing that saved it from being a huge disaster for the producers was the pre sales of digital rights and those people like Amazon got suckered into paying for it, thinking it would be a hit. Big corporations can assume the loss without issue because movies like Uri make up for it. But people lost their jobs over flopikarnika and a lot lost money. kangana and her fans should really stop claiming it is a hit, the truth is painful but it is there.
