My mom is a big Akki fan according to her he is getting too repetitive with the patriotic and social message films. She wants him to do more action movies and comedies. Not the Houseful type comedy but Hera Pheri type comedy.

If the budget is 100 cr, they would require a recovery of around 180-200 cr from the doemstic box office to be classified as a genuine hit.

Second, how the heck did they spend 80 cr on production without Akshay's salary? This film looks cheap af.

Also, the trend is incredibly mediocre. Despite glowing reviews, and an extended day holiday weekend, this film will struggle to cross 150 cr.

Sooryavanshi won't be able to stand against Salman. That's for sure now

I feel he has too many releases In a year and his choices are getting too repetitive.

For a superstar their should be some intrigue factor .. like someone's movie releasing after a year etc . He comes in 4 movies a year ..

Well, first of all, a budget has nothing to do with film verdicts. There are other streams to recover the budget for the producers by selling - distribution rights, music rights, TV rights etc.

Box office verdicts are based on distribution share. I couldn't find any solid source anywhere on how much this movie was sold for. I am gonna assume 50ish crore, so it would need 110 plus to be a HIT, which BOI and other trade analysts are suggesting.

Akki is the co-producer of this movie with Dharma. Dude is doing profit-sharing than his usual lump-sum fee I assume.

With the trend, I was expecting 200 crores myself here but 150 ain't bad at all. "Underperformance" in that sense. 😆

Kesari had a decent Wednesday as it collected in the 7-7.25 crore nett range and it was a normal drop for Tuesday of around 13%. This takes the six day figure to over 93 crore nett. The film held better in areas which had dropped on Monday with the biggest drop of 15% coming in Delhi / UP.

The extended first week is looking in the 105 crore nett range which is good but the trend of the film is very average since Sunday. The film is a success and has done well enough but that second Friday is all important to become a solid HIT.

The collections in Mumbai on Friday are the key as North is on board and likes of Rajasthan and Bihar are pretty good and if Mumbai can hold then the film will run with good collections till Kalank in mid April. The business of Kesari till date is as follows.
