Happy being Chintu's widow and hence not to be married to Rocky is not a valid reason for me. Though happy married Chintu, it was not coz she wished it or had loved him. But then marrying his brother's widow is not unheard of in real life too. I remember there being a movie (Ek chadar maili si) on the same topic with hema malini and rishi kapoor playing the bhabhi and devar. Though there it was kind of tragic as they both didn't want to marry, Hema's character was more like a mother to Rishi's and Rishi's character was in love with poonam dillon's (?). But I think the concept of the movie was based on a custom that prevailed in some region.
I wish they hadn't shown Rocky as such a jerk or his torture of Happy to such an extend. It is obvious (hopefully) that Chintu's death has changed him to a better person. If you take that into account shouldn't his turning a new leaf and being a good person be rewarded? Shouldn't the society accept and give another chance to a repented criminal?Even as I put forth this pov, let me present another thought too. In real life Time and again people try to correct an injustice done to a rape victim by making the rapist marry her! Don't get me wrong I am not calling Rocky a rapist, but just mentioning that pairing up the victim with the tormentor is not something that doesn't happen.
