After the release of Padmaavat, a lot was said and written about Sanjay Leela Bhansali's new project which was touted to be a love story. Not long ago, it was confirmed that the filmmaker has reunited with his Hum Dil De Chuke Sanam actor Salman Khan for the same film. Soon after that announcement, reports suggested that SLB is planning to cast Shah Rukh Khan in the yet-to-be-titled film. Besides SRK, rumour mills were abuzz with reports of Priyanka being cast opposite the Dabangg actor. But, it was apparently Salman who expressed apprehensions working with the global icon, due to their Bharat fall out.

Meanwhile, if the latest development by Bollywood Hungama is anything to go with, then Sanjay Leela Bhansali has registered THREE titles for Meena Kumari's 1952 cult classic Baiju Bawra. And this remake is said to be the one wherein the filmmaker has planned to rope in SRK with Salman.

Baijnath, Baiju, and Baiju Tansen are three titles which SLB has registered. If this piece of news is anywhere close to the truth, well, then we are sure it will be a delight for Salman-Shah Rukh Khan's fans. The original movie, Baiju Bawra, was directed by Vijay Bhatt and it won Meena Kumari the first-ever Best actress Filmfare award in 1954.

On the work front, Salman recently wrapped up the shoot of Ali Abbas Zafar's Bharat, which is set for Eid release this year. Khan has reunited with his Tiger Zinda Hai co-star Katrina Kaif for the movie. Shah Rukh Khan, on the other hand, was last seen in Aanand L Rai's Zero, S which turned out to be a box-office dud. Post Zero, King Khan has not officially announced his new acting project yet. Although, we are hoping that he does the same soon.

SRK can play Tansen, but does Sallu has the acting chops to play Baiju?
Plus wasn't Baiju a young guy while Tansen much elder??

Isn't the Salman SLB movie confirmed to be a contemporary romantic action movie.. Baiju afaik is not a contemporary story.

I dont think it is the same movie Salman is doing with Bhansali . May be another one after

SRK Salary : 50 Cr

Deepika Salary : 20 Cr

Chandelier Budget : 25 Cr

Curtain Budget : 25 Cr

Deepika's Grand Dance Number : 30 Cr

That's 200 Cr and we haven't even reached the budget for the swimming pools and stuff. Not feasible.

Hope he won't remake those music classics.

Neither singers nor musicians are as trained as the people of that era. Audience don't have an ear to appreciate the classical music.

We are not a generation who can appreciate this gem.

I thought it was already announced as a Salman only movie?

Is it changing , again?

Or maybe SRK is doing a cameo, same as Salman did in Zero?

But in all seriousness.. I , personally, love SLB's grand scale and aesthetics.

Just wish the scripts were tighter and the budget more controlled- espedcially jewellry ( he should really let someone else do budgeting he spends omn silly stuff and gets overboard with it all... like PV could have cut 50 cr from jewellry and some costumes alone!)

I just keep thinking how SLB will control his anger infront of Salman. Unlike the treatment he has given to the younger generation , I don't think he can behave the same with Salman. Was he that short tempered in the past when he did HDDCS or Khamoshi with Salman ?
