Yeah, today he kind of felt bad that Guddan was looking like the fool/liar as she was unable to prove anything to the family after he hid everything. He has always encouraged her to achieve her goals and gave her the confidence that she would succeed. For a change, he was the one putting roadblocks in her way. He understood her being upset and frustrated so when he asked her to go home his voice was very gentle and he his eyes had no anger or hurt whatsoever, only empathy for her.

He totally had the Lord Vader-esque "I am your father (-in-law)" vibe on today. He doesn't need to raise his voice at all because his ice-cold demeanor and words dripping with sarcasm do far more damage.

I thought it was very clever screenplay that after AJ warned his bahus in a cool way, Guddan then came and warned him in a cold voice without hysterics. They are more like each other than they realize. 😃
