Sharing some thoughts here. 😳

I never thought I'd be watching season 2, though I have liked the works of Tejaswini, Kunal and Aneri at some point or the other in their previous shows. Not a diehard fanof any one of them and personally liked Aditi, Shakti and Kinshuk each of them as good actors from their previous works. Still, two things surprised me enough to keep me loosely bound to this show. One was the characterisation and the other was an actor who took me by surprise.
The actor is Rohan Gandotra. I have never been impressed by him before. So I was pleasantly surprised to see chemistry between him and Tejaswini. In fact, the way the past few episodes were written, I felt Tejaswini has a better chemistry with him than with Kunal. I hope Gajra keeps him interesting. In fact, Veer and Arnav are the only characters she has written with clarity and they are definitely not boring, though I must say the tattoo and surname is too melodramatic for me. Still, they are nice enough.

Coming to characterisation of the three main protagonists from the montage:
I find striking resemblances and reminiscences of characters from season 1.

Ruhaan: Wonder if there is any connection to ruhaani arzoo. 😆What do we know of him, other than the fact that he is a lady magnet and a very talented photographer? There was a reference to his many girl friends, so him falling for another pretty face like Mishti makes one wonder if she was the one searching for all his life... Makes him a little shallow too, since I'm not much of a believer in love at first sight. Of course, he reminds me of Kunal very strongly because of the ruhaani arzoo reminder.

Pari: She doesn't resent it, but she yearns for her mother to be remembered alongside her father. It pains her that Nandini has a place only in the locket around her neck. She loves Mauli Aunty, yet stands by the belief that her mother was never wrong. This is despite the fact Kunal himself who subscribed to the same philosophy admitted in the end that he had wronged Mauli. Season 1, as we all know, was about a woman betrayed by her husband and her best friend and the trials and fears she faced before she could move on finally. Would Pari come to know at least a bit of the pain Mauli Aunty went through in the form of unrequited love? Betrayal to the extent Mauli had to face doesn't seem to be on the cards for her, thankfully.

Mishti : She is actually the strongest reason for me to stick around. She has been written very vaguely, but I see an amalgamation of all three characters of Mauli, Kunal and Nandini in her.
She is the Nandini who makes heads turn with her natural beauty and fashion sense. In fact, when Tejaswini was announced for second season the first thought I had was she was the apt daughter to a beautiful Drashti Dhami. Instead, the writer made Pari as careless about her appearance as Mauli and Mishti very graceful like Nandini. Timidity and insecurity seems to be other traits she shares with Nandini. Her way of dressing up and presenting herself could lure in any Ruhaan floating about in search of his arzoo and send an average woman running to her closet to upgrade her fashion sense. I'm not referring to Pari's makeover, since that was not inspired by Mishti though it seemed so.
She has that naughty streak of Kunal in her that she has subconsciously suppressed and the moment someone dares that part of her to come out, she is alarmed. Is she also searching for someone, unknown to herself? Will growing proximity to Ruhaan bring out that side of hers?
Mishti is definitely not her mother, though she adores her and wants to be like her. She doesn't have to be. She should be different. For now, she carries the fear that any day her life could be upset by an unexpected twist of events. She shudders at the sight of Pari's mother's photo. How is it that Mauli moved on and Mishti was trapped in the insecurity of her childhood? She fears infidelity, but what if she herself were to unknowingly get drawn into it? Deep down, has Mauli left an imprint of herself in her daughter, whereby the trials she faces might be different, but she would have the same strength to overcome it?

Thus Gajra weaves the tangled web of relationships, I suppose😉😆

PS: This post is not written to glorify anyone or start any fanwars. I have mentioned season 1 characters only because season 2 is not completely separate from season 1, since there are constant references to Nandini and Mauli. Hope to have a clean discussion. 😳

I don't find Mishti's fashion sense anything like Nandini...all her dresses are pretty normal which can be wore on daily basis...nothing OTT like nandini's...yeah Teja is natural beauty and look stunning in any clothes..even if she wears pari's clothes she will look gorgeous nonetheless

😆
Nandini had a very good set of sarees. Her blouse designs were quite OTT, I agree. What I meant to highlight is, Mishti is not like Mauli who never bothered about her looks much. She may not have OTT style, but makes heads turn.
The daughters are very different from their mothers and it is very natural.

Both Drashti and Teja are natural beauties.

@bold, never thought of that! Maybe Pari getting betrayed somehow will make her realise that what her mother did was wrong. Period. Yes she can remember her mother and empathise in her pain however justifying her mother's actions is wrong. I just hope with time she does realise that her mother was wrong to betray her sister like friend without her going through anything as bad as Mauli.

It may be just my opinion but I don't like Mishti's fashion sense. Yes she carries most of them well and looks beautiful but I can not place her as the beautiful graceful attention grabber. I find both Mishti and Pari to be simple and pretty girls tbh
Nothing Ott as Nandini.

And yes Mishti is her own person. We don't expect her to turn out be like Mauli but we do want to see her walking in the steps of parents upbringing. Both Ishaan and Mauli were good and selfless people but they also had a fair idea of what was wrong what was right. What was good and what was not. I don't except her to be selfless and too kind hearted like Mauhaan but she should know the difference between right and wrong. Difference between fair and unfair unlike her father.

@red, maybe cause she was somehow traumatised by the thought of her father cheating on her mother in childhood. A lot of times adults fear something cause of bad memories related to it from their childhood. Kunal and Nandini were bad memories of her childhood. While she did come to terms on liking Kunal, she never got a chance to know Nandini beside the name she was tagged with "the one who betrayed her own best friend". She just knew Nandini as the woman who betrayed her mother. Because of whom her mother suffered so much. thus her hatred or uncomfortable feelings towards her.
Mauli was a matured adult when she forgave Nandini and Kunal. She knew Nandini and despite all the pain she gave, Mauli somewhere did love her. So she forgave Nandini once her heart was at peace.

I just want Pari to realise it was an impossible dream to want Mauli and Kunal together, after what her parents did to her. I want her to still love her mother with her flaws, just like Mauli did when she accepted Kunal's child with her best friend.

Mishti- I meant her looks in total. Wardrobe is nothing noteworthy really. She doesn't look careless like Pari. That is what I meant. If you put Pari and Mishti in one frame, naturally one would look at Mishti.

Mishti 's trauma : I think she'll forever wonder what went wrong in Maunal marriage. Maybe she will empathise with Nandini at some point in time, who knows!

I would just say one thing stay in the house where your mother isn't liked or respected . .I feel for Pari more due to this very reason, can't she feel bad?cant she yearn respect for her mom? Well yes she can...For her Mauli aunty was Mauli aunty whom she loved and she was never her mom and her mom as whose love she never got.. .

She still is too caring and considerate just like Mishti and hides her pain. Honestly the way Arnav understands her I wish she ends up with him

This is the very same thing I was wondering about.
Didn't Kunal stay with Radhika and Dida ? Did he not conduct pooja for his dead wife and hang pictures of his child's mother? How come he stayed with Radhika when his wife was not accepted there? It is very unfortunate for Pari. Once Mauli moved on at least he should have got his family to accept Nandini... I can't believe he just let it be. Anyway, I guess they needed it like that for the story.

Yes exactly this is what I meant... It's basically more of kunal's fault then anyone else
