Dearth of upcoming legit female actresses?

For some time now, we have been consistently getting some solid performances from male stars.. Especially the upcoming ones.. Like Vicky Kaushal, Siddhant Chaturvedi, Ayushman, Rajkumar etc. Even the supporting ones like Pankaj Tripathi, Vijay Verma, Aparshakti etc. These are some of the talents that audience are looking forward to.. what they will be doing next.

But can the same be said about the female actors? Apart from the popular choice that is Alia do we have any female actresses that audience are looking forward to.. Who has wowed us with her performance? All the upcoming ones are mediocre at best acting wise and some of them look like they just came out of the school straight to the film sets.. like Jhanvi, Sara, Ananya, Tara.. All come under cute category at max. IMO, there is no one right now who is that great acting wise or even looks wise.

Please discuss if you feel otherwise or list down the actresses which acting wise toh chodo but looks wise u feel can rule for the coming days?

They can already be in bollywood or can be from web/TV also who should be given a chance u feel.

They should have auditions ASAP.. and promote more the Performance Arts degrees at Universities.

I am sure there are MANY talented and beautiful Indian girls that COULD become the next Indian superstars- there just need to be more effort done in finding those that are not JUST talented, or JUST beautiful, but some that posses BOTH.

As for the current NEW lot.. I find them underwhelming.. none holds my attention the way a Deepika, PC or Katrina would.. DP, Kat and PC look superstar- like.. Whilst the new lot look ... wannabee.. ( sorry to their fans.. but you knwo.. that 's what forum is for- opinions..)

Edited to add: maybe Kriti Sanon from current lot. She has potential - just needs better roles/movies.

But atleast v have some male actors in recent times like say Vicky Kaushal who audiences have really embraced and are looking forward to his upcoming projects.. That cant be said for any actress except maybe say Sara.. but that also is because of her offscreen persona and not really her acting chops so far..

@Bold: so true.. For e.g.: Kareena and PC had my attention on KwK last episode even though I have watched their interviews before too.. but Tara, Ananya who are newcomers.. I couldnt even complete their episode.. No charm whatsoever..

Yeah, Vicky is the only guy who in my opinion has great potential. I'm not a fan of Rajkumar and Ayushman.

When it comes to actresses there's an even bigger problem. The only good actress right now who's proved her versatility is Alia. I love Sara and I thought she was good in Simmba.

I haven't seen her debut film yet but she got really good reviews for her debut performance so I don't know why you're saying she can't act.

Give these female stars role like Alia gets not the ones SOTY SIMBAA Pati Patni aur woh. The quality female role is so bad, hardly anyone except Alia gets quality offer from Kjo. Compared this to male stars, Vicky, Ayushman RKR usually get well written characters. Female stars can also shine given the right script and character. I don't think there's any dearth of female or male actors rather dearth of quality offers. Things are getting better, roles were so worse back in 2010/11/12/13/14/15/16

Sara was really good in Kedarnath.. Simmba I felt she was there just for songs.. But I feel she still has a long way to go.. Saw her recent Veet ads and my god she is overacting so much in it.. And popularity wise I still feel there is no craze as such like say Deepika had when she debuted.

In male actors, the recent e.g. being Siddhant.. people are raving about MC Sher and the guy really got such good critics reviews.. His insta no. has increased so much and the comments u should see.. Its a different thing that v dont know yet whether he'll be able to sustain this hype.. but still there is some craze...

Really good point.. male actors have an upperhand like that.. They get such fleshed out characters to perform to. But if I consider say Janhvi's role in Dhadak.. it had quite a scope to perform.. but I dont think she was able to capitalize that.. I havent seen the muvi, but the reviews for her werent that great either..

Ananya and Tara so far v can judge only look wise and that is also mediocre.. Especially Ananya. it feels like she is starving herself.. doesnt look healthy to me.. No stunners in recent times like say DP or Kareena
