Madras High court has demanded an amusing order recently. In a very bewildering scenario, the court wanted to know whether economic independence of both the spouses, internet and social media, sexual dysfunction, westernization, and lack of quality time were the primary reasons for increase in extra marital relationships.

The issue rose in the wake of increase in extra marital relationships, murders and kidnaps in last 10 years in Tamil Nadu. A division bench of justice N Kirubakaran and Justice Abdul Quddhose, said that extra marital relationships have become very dangerous these days.

In an effort to find out the reasons and ways to prevent/reduce the offences, the court raised certain queries, and it was one of them.

The court wondered whether public exposure of women, who rightly broke restrictive customs, and their mingling with third parties in their offices or professions are some of the reasons for clandestine relationships.
