Maybe just by seeing Mauli tensed over Kunal's fainting, or just so he can make sure one last time he isn't getting in the way of a perfect family, like he told the girls yesterday "I am doing this for you" (when they asked him to go to the movies with him and he said he has some work to do). Hopefully tomorrow's episode brings more clarity.

What did he see that viewers haven't? I don't understand. All I am saying is there are certain section of viewers who want Mauli to go back to Kunal and Ishaan is thinking on the same lines. I don't agree with either may be those viewers can better answe your question since they can understand where Ishaan is coming from. I don't think anymore clarity is required. He made his decision in yesterday's epi and he will stick to it.

Again, why ppl who wanted Kunal? Those who understand ishaan better should answer na? Pls, let's not make this about Maunal or Mauhaan fan base. I didn't expect fandom clash here. It was a simple query trying to understand n I agree with few of the above posts..

Then why wud Ishaan wants her to go back to him? He had his doubts seeing them as happy family but after today, isn't it obvious that it was always Nandu for Kunal?

Because Mauli has not confessed her love to him.

He knew before also when Mauli told him on Nandini s barsi . Nothing new he learnt today.

Maybe Ishaan also realized that woh bohot seedeh sadhe, bhola bhale, mahaan but boring insaan hai. Always stable and secure, Mouli might get bored (just like Kunal did). Kunal on the other has more shades. He will offer a more adventurous life: will he love her, will he leave her, will he make her green tea, will he find someone to make him kheer, will he play chor police with her, will he kick her out middle of the night aur aur unlike Ishaan he has the courage o blame everything on Mouli, even his mistress running away...he just has so much more to offer. And ishaan realizes that (because he is a mahaan ever so understanding guy.

I think this must be it. Kyunki logical explanation nahi hai. Of course being a tv show we know this is the pre climactic scene. but characters are doing shit tht doesnt make sense and feels abrubt.

Ishaan could see that nandu ruined maunals marriage ...now there's kids involved ..so he probably feels that if he got himself out of the equation ..then Mauli , Kunal and the kids could be a happy family,..remember he's now seen the pre nandu Kunal or ML Kunal...who appeared to love Mauli,..And Mauli has not confessed to Ishaan that she does love him..so being the good guy that he is ..he's putting his happiness a side ...to get maunal together and give both girls their family ,..and Mauli has shown concern for Kunal and sweety has told him many times that Mauli loved Kunal very much..he's trying to give Mauli peace ..as he can she is troubled..As he said already ...he can't see her unhappy ,..and her happiness is always above his own..But he'll soon see that maunal are history...
