Part 14

Geet is getting pleasantly shocked with Maan's behaviour...even I am surprised...but clearly a jealous man would do anything to mark his territory...hehe...cute he is
and the other girls going gaga over him was cute too...
Poor Geet was turning into a blushing mush...hehe,...the two are so cute...
its right Maan was yet to form any emotional bond with the baby but I guess the introduction to the baby did the deal...loved that moment
it must be normal for others but for him the fact that the baby kicked was indeed special...he felt it the first time...
the he/she correction was too lovely...
and also when he jokes around with her to make her comfortable was nice...not to mention he does find her beautiful...waiting for the day he confesses it in open rather than just in his thoughts
I am glad that he made it clear that he was not acting just for the sake rather he was being himself and was being the daddy of the baby...lovely

Sam and Adi were cute on their date but what the hell is Maya's problem...uff...hope they find love in each other

Sam and Maan are always fun to see...loved how he giggled when the baby kicked...and oh they were holding hands...and him mesmerized by Geet's laughter...dreamy...
Does Maan have any real problem with Sam or just plain irritated with her antics? i hope it is the latter...don't want him to be a problem for Sam and Adi...

ok so it ended on two questions...the answer to both is yes I guess but all they need is to communicate the yes to one another

Part 15

So easy for Maan to forget stuff and indulge in sports...hehe typical guy...
its lovely to see the two of them sailing in the same boat...thinking about one another and feeling the warmth...
kick or kiss is a great idea to find out the gender...hehe...only if they could recognize its kiss or a kick...hehe girls are cute
so now Maan missed her bed too...is he the same Maan who was complaining about having to sleep on her bed to Adi? haha...

loved how Geet confronted Sam about not having to change to please others...totally agree with Geet there and am glad she is there for Sam to knock some sense in that crazy girl...:)

how both of them were happy seeing each other in the kitchen was lovely...:)
glad they talked and loved how he said OUR...they are beautiful together...
their silence is comforting too...which is nice and beautiful for their budding relationship...
loving their small and sweet moments...not a rush but slowly they are seeping it through...

that OURS resonation in her mind was beautiful...

Part 16

Poor Geet...suffered through pain but wanted to do this for Maan...that was aww...
Rano's reaction being a mother seeing her baby in pain was so obvious...:)

nice to know that even though not more than just friends still they are spending more time together and Maan is as excited for the baby as is Geet...good...guess the emotional bond between a father and a baby is born...
Poor Maan was badly stuck but loved his eagerness to attend the appointment
loved how Maan just rushed her to the loo...not caring about anything else...that was so sweet...:)
Maan is awed by his happy and his eagerness is well depicted in his questions regarding his baby...
so now they have started understanding each other's wants too...nice nice
am loving the progress of their relationship
the scene in the car with Rano Ma noticing them and feeling nice to have her daughter loved was beautiful
Maaneet were so engrossed in their baby to have noticed her...
lovely

Part 17

So Handas are leaving...hmmm...loved the way they gave their parental orders to everyone...hehe
and loved how they were worried for Sam too...nice

glad Rana suggested that they should still stay together...otherwise these stupid fellas would not have initiated that talk...
loved how they were excited about that...and it was lovely how Maan was solely focused on Geet in the car

liked how Adi pointed out that he liked Sam for who she is and does not want her to change...Sam deserves that

oh so Maan's parents came to know...this is going to be interesting now...
am thinking they are not as understanding as Geet's parents were...
in between what all his mother was saying, loved how he compared his mom to SAm...hehe

Maan and Geet meeting with the mini Hitler as Maan pointed would be fun
looking forward to it

Thank you to all that have liked and commented, i am so sorry for not responding to all of you guys. However your comments mean alot.

Firstly Rashmi my Hindi isn't that bad, it's Google Translate that's bad lol. My past stories I have used Hindi dialogues plus I converse with you in Hindi lol. Don't tell me Google has ruined my impression in front of you, BTW in this part the Hindi dialogues are written by me, the Punjabi isn't hence I have provided the English translation for it, obviously the translate feature can't be trusted lol. Mera izjat ka falooda ho gaya lol

Sahiba don't worry sweets, honestly thank you for such beautiful comments. Its added feathers to an already beautiful day. BTW wish you the best with the Anni thread, I understand you'd be super busy so don't stress about this, ok.

PS; These babies are so cute, i so want to adopt but mums like find a man, now where am i meant to find one of them lol

Chapter 18

Rana and Maya sat opposite of a very worried Geet and Maan, Sameer and Adi were also within the living room but closer to the window. All wore impassive faces, it was very late at night, make that very very late. As soon as Maan hung up the phone with his mother, he tended to a vexed Geet; her breathing turned dangerously shallow and her face paled to the extreme. A scared Maan shouted for Sameera, who in turn asked for Adi to pop down since he was on call with her. In the end, even Rana and Maya heard of Geet's unstable health and drove immediately down.

'Geet it's nothing to be worried about?' Rana was the first to speak, his brows drawn together and Maya beside nodded in agreement.

'Though it kills me to say this Geet, but Rana is right' Sameera brought in her own character making a phased out Geet smile despite the guilt she felt within

'I'm so sorry Maan' she cried the next, it was all her fault and now Maan's parents knowing complicates everything further. What does the future hold for him, for her, for them?

'Why are you sorry?' he asked incredulously, a brow tuned higher than the other in command making Geet confused, so she looked at Rana and then Sameera for confirmation, both of whom only smiled lightly.

'You are pregnant and the baby is mine, so it's good in a way my parents found out. Imagine they knew after our baby was born, I bet my mum would have killed me' he muttered taking her hands into his and stroked an warm thumb against her shivering palm. 'Geet seriously smile, mum knowing is better than Adi dating Sameera' he murmured into her ears but still loud enough for Sam to hear who cried out at 'JERK'. 'By the way Sam, I think you should meet my mum, I swear you're like her missing daughter. I bet the babies were switched at birth' Maan continued seeing how Geet gained in colour and smiled much more openly. 'Would that make me your sister, Baby Daddy?' Sam laughed and it was Maan's turn to loose colour, 'Please spare me the horror!' he prayed folding his hands and bowed giving up, making everyone laugh even Geet who slowly was returning to normalcy. Her friends and Maan were doing their might for her, so the least she could do was forget about the guilt that ate her up.

'Maan I don't want your mum to hate you because of me, I can tell her the truth if you like' Geet all of sudden whispered amongst the happy voices.

'Geet don't be crazy, my mum would rather have me be a father than knowing of you being injected with my sperm. After knowing the truth, she'll force me into a marriage; probably ASAP' Maan informed, serious and wide-eyed forcing Geet to shut down. She can't have him marry a different woman, can she?

'Geet meet them tomorrow and then decide the future' Rana advised in time, getting up to leave noting the clock on the wall read 02:45, Maya beside was yawning too.

'Wait before you go, how come you're a couple again?' Sam blurted out before the pair could reach for the room door. The rest also looked at them, Adi and Geet in knowing and Maan confused.

'Well I apologised, and after like a week of separation we decided to go out again' Maya for the first time spoke, her voice gentle maybe for the first time ever.

'Which brings me to, Sam I think we should start off afresh, let's forget the past and try to get along' Maya stepped forward and then turned around to look at Rana who nodded in encouragement, this was what he had wanted, a little matureness from her; the woman he liked was the Law graduated Maya, who had a firm voice and aspirations to be the best but instead he was dating Maya, who was immature, lacked inspiration and was over-possessive. Both spoke of what was wrong and Rana asked for a brief time out before they officially got together again, with a more compassionate Rana and a more understanding Maya.

'That's what Sameera wants too' Adi hopped in urging Sam forward, both the woman awkwardly hugged and smiled before returning to the boyfriends' side. 'Well we'll be off now, Maya will double check the papers tomorrow and then submit it' Rana looked at Geet and then at Maya, who looked slightly surprised with his words, ever since they started dating he only trusted her with reception duties and hadn't given her one duty that required brains, although he wasn't entirely to blame, but now she was happy, very happy. 'So Geet and Maan, you can expect Dev to pay a visit, be prepared' Rana advised ushering Maya to the door with a warm smile and then be walked back, watched over Geet for a while and then crouched down to take Geet into his brotherly arms, 'Don't worry, everything would be good. Trust me, Maan will sort everything' he earnestly mumbled into her ears and stared affectionately at Maan who smiled in understanding, it seems both the males knew each wanted to protect Geet. Rana then got up, nodded at Adi, briefly smiled at Sam as if acknowledging her presence and then walked away.

'Geet what was that?' Sam asked when they heard the front door closewith a slight bang

'Apparently Sam and Maya are best friends in the making' Adi joked pulling Sam into his arms while she shouted 'You must be kidding me' but really didn't say anything further, adjusting to the feel of Adi's heart against her ear. Geet looked at her best friend, happy and secure; she then looked up to see Maan's face who was still sitting beside her, his eyes firmly on her; sparks flew and it was then she realised they were good, as long as he knew she never intended to complicate his life, she was happy. 'Tomorrow would be good' he kissed her forehead and then got up, heading towards the stairs, with an 'Goodnight' they left Sam and Adi in the living room and headed upstairs, ready to send another day to sleep.

The next day, Maan and Geet sat on the sofa of his tiny apartment waiting for Maan's parents who called from the motorway, apparently the roads to London were heavily congested making it all the worse for them. Waiting in silence, Geet bit down on her nail watching the clock tick, while Maan rummaged through his flat trying to make it presentable for his mother and father. After all, no son liked a mother who'd tell him off in front of their girlfriend, 'GIRLFREIND' as the word crossed Maan's head, he stilled his movements and watched Geet, a small smile forming. He then looked around his apartment, before settling beside Geet, taking in her nervous body into his comforting ones.

'Just spoke to Vicky, they should be here soon' Maan spoke gently taking her hand away from her mouth, he then placed an apple in her palm, one he gave her when they entered his home yet she made no movement to eat. He then spoke of the dynamics of his family. His older brother, Karan was married for 5 years now and had a young daughter and son; older sister Anjali, married for 3 years and also with an infant, he came next, then the new bride-to-be Natasha, followed by the twins Vicky and Pinky. Karan was driving his parents to London, and thankfully Vicky was in the passenger seat playing the informer, texting him every so often about his mother's mood or his troubled parents decision, which truth be told wasn't too pleasing, his mother went as far to saying 'we'll disown him'.

'Geet if you like, go take a nap' he instructed taking note of Geet's tired eyes. Both couldn't sleep much last night and woke up early, even before sunrise. While Geet found herself in the kitchen prepping breakfast, Maan took out his laptop and continued on the research paper. Later when they came face to face, they openly admitted the distress like any normal couple and finally not being able to sit calm, Maan suggested they head to his apartment, in case his family came early and like expected Geet also agreed.

'No it's ok, what if aunty comes and finds me sleeping' Geet yawned despite the efforts to keep herself from it. She looked terrible; red eyes, scared and nervous. As was Maan, making Geet's situation worse.

'It won't look good' she added seeing how Maan was about to complain, so the both of them again fell into silence. It took them 5 minutes to silence the beating of the heart and focus on the baby, Maan placed his big palm against her softened hump 'It'll be ok, mum just looks scary but she's fine deep down' Maan added to diminish her worries, and even with the terror Geet smiled placing her hand against his touch.

KNOCK KNOCK

The banging continued making the pair jump up in shock, Geet let out a small yelp and Maan ran to his door in anger.

'Who is it?' Maan shouted annoyed at the intruder for scaring Geet like that, the gynaecologist highly opposed to such scares as it increased the heart rate and released hormones causing an imbalance within the mother's body, not so healthy for the mother's health.

'Your mother' came the c**t response, making him all the more afraid as he hastened the unbolting of the door. Once opened, he stood staring at his mother, falling just above his elbows in height and fairly chubby; his father stood behind, much taller than his mother but still shorter than Maan, and relatively thin.

'Ki tusi sanu adra auna di'oge (Will you let us in?)' Anita asked bluntly, her tone of voice not pleasant

'Please come in mum, dad' Maan called opening the door wider, from behind Geet too stood up and carefully walked closer. Maan was just about to hug his older brother when he heard his mother gasp in shock.

'Bohut sonhani hai (She's so pretty)' Anita screamed excitedly, Geet looked at Maan confused and scared with the scream while everyone in the room laughed out loud. Anita who was fuming badly a while ago was now apparently fully appeased seeing the beauty in front. Geet had consciously worn an Asian attire, a white Salwar kameez, which a distant relative gifted at that time it was too big in size but now fit perfectly, thanks to pregnancy. Maan, himself was pleasantly surprised when he saw her looking like an angel, hair tied in a side plate and light make-up matching; though he had spoken fairly at length of how she should not change herself but in the end Geet had only looked more depressed, so he hadn't fought harder, rather ushered her out and drove straight to his flat, he had midway told her how beautiful she looked, making her blush despite the frowning worry.

'Tusi usa aurata ho jisnae salam badri mera putara bita'I'a (So you are the woman who kept my son busy over the years)' Anita asked with an dubious voice looking angry, of course she was just joking but to Geet who didn't understand, she only took note of the temper and the irritated face, so naturally she stepped back in tears.

'Maa' Maan cried walking to Geet, he then held her shoulder and wiped away the tears uncaring of the family watching, the worst his mother could think was that they were married, which she kind of does anyway. Karan and Vicky looked are one another shocked, Maan had never been compassionate towards the other gender; half of his childhood was spent in libraries and book clubs running away from girls, so this was a surprise even Sasha was introduced to them as a colleague when he had moved to London initially.

'Tusi pajabi nu nahi janade (You don't know Punjabi?)'

'So this is Maan's choice?' Both Anita and Karan spoke, the mother looked at her son annoyed for interrupting her

'Tum he hindi to ati hai?' Anita asked next as Karan shrunk to the back where his father stood, seeing how Geet still stood confused beside Maan; Anita looked appalled

'Mums asking if you know Punjabi or Hindi' Vicky answered walking to the sofa and plopped down heavily on the sofa, ignoring his mother's annoyed look and remained as calm as usual. He then stared at Geet and then looked at his dad as if to interrupt.

'Bhabi please sit down' He added flipping his mobile out and Maan was highly appreciated toward his brother, for he next ushered Geet next to him and then walked away towards kitchen offering his mother and father tea and his brothers coffee.

'So do you?' Anita asked sitting on the single sofa, emitting an aura of power and oppression unlike her husband who stood looking around for a seat, Karan sat beside to Vicky much away from his mother, in the end it was Maan who came forward with a chair from the dining table for his father.

'My mum paid for Hindi classes but Sam thought it was a waste of time, so we ended up playing around' Geet honestly answered now hating herself for letting Sameera bully her out of the boring Hindi classes held at the local Temple in South End.

'Your mum don't know hindi?' Anita asked sharply and Maan almost heard the tare in Geet's voice

'She does but she's a professor at London Imperial so has no time...' Geet tried answering but Raj finally interrupted looking lovingly at Geet

'Kitni soni ate samajha hai (She's so beautiful and understanding Anita)' as if marking the end of Anita question and answer session, Maan promptly brought out the beverages and forced a glass of orange juice into Geet's hand, he then looked at Vicky who got up and sat on the arm of his mother's sofa.

'Maa if your integration is finished, then can we talk of other things like Natasha's wedding' Maan asked holding the glass for Geet, whose hands felt weak from being watched, she was extremely nervous.

'Is this the way to talk to your mother?' Anita rebuked and Geet sat further hiding herself behind Maan's broad shoulder catching Anita's attention, the woman her son fell for was incredibly cute.

'Atcha see it's like this, Natasha's wedding is in 2 weeks' time' Anita started and then looked at her husband for the first time

'Her in-laws don't want the town to speak of how disparate Natasha and we are to marry her off before you, her older brother, and then there's Kiran who'd probably spread fake rumours of Natasha being pregnant hence the rushed wedding' Raj informed and the 3 brothers signed in frustration, this was the exact reason Maan ran away from his home town and the gossips, unfortunately Karan and Vicky were still stuck.

'So we planned to get you married before or at the same time as Natasha' Anita ordered freezing Geet and Maan, 'Marriage' and 'them', 'was it right?' their eyes asked one another as the world around faded into shades of black and white other than the colourful expressions of one another. 'Can they get married?' Geet wondered and Maan fretted over whether they 'Should get married?'
