Friends I am sure most of you are aware of the trp calculation system but yet I am sharing what I know .
Earlier we had TAM giving trp data wherein around 5000 meters were installed across india and trp was based on that data .
In Barc the number of meters in different houses went up to 50,000 and they are increasing it.
Now how do they calculate
Trps are based on two factors Total of Time spent and Reach
Time spent is how much time people spent on a particular show before changing channels. They get specific data on when audience change channels
Reach is both the reach of channel and number of people tuning in.
Data is also collected age wise.
So you see so many forms.
Anyway the present drop is due to the huge drop in Reach as the new subscription system has been introduced.
So you see a huge drop in all shows
Anyway channel considers average of a month so no need to panic on every weekly trp. It just helps in giving directions to a particular track .
I just wanted to share this so that we don't unnecessarily become skeptical about this week trp .
