Recently, Yeh Rishta Kya Kehlata Hai completed 10 years, along with it comes a bigger surprise as producer Rajan Shahi is all set to come up with a spin-off based on the same show.

The maverick Shahi is known for creating stars out of actors, and this time he has roped in Shaheer Shiekh, and Rhea Sharma to play leads of the show.

Shahi confirmed the news to a leading publication that Shaheer has been signed to play the male lead. He will be seen in a dynamic role, which will be different from his previous outings. He also realised that some of the characters from the original show deserve to be explored further in the spin-off and the title of the serial is yet to be decided.

Our sources have informed us that Rhea Sharma is also finalized to play the female lead. Rhea was last seen in Star Plus' Tu Sooraj Main Saanjh Piyaji.

We tried reaching out to Shaheer and Rhea but both remained unavailable to comment.

Talented actress Sangeeta Kapure who is presently seen in Colors' Vish Ya Amrit: Sitaara will be part of the huge spin-off of Rajan Shahi's Yeh Rishta Kya Kehlata Hai on Star Plus.

The news of Yeh Rishta's spin-off has raised curiosity in the loyal fans of the show. And as expected, the creative think-tank of Rajan Shahi and channel has been busy in churning out a promising extended tale to Yeh Rishta.

The show is slated to get a primetime slot on Star Plus. The shoot for the show will soon start in Ahmedabad is what we hear.

As per reports in a leading publication, popular actor Shaheer Sheikh will play the male lead in the show. Tu Sooraj Main Saanjh Piyaji fame Rhea Sharma has been roped in for the female lead's role. She will play the role of Mishti.

IWMBuzz.com has reported about Tu Aashiqui lead Ritvik Arora playing the second lead. We also wrote about Chaitrali Gupte playing a mother's role in a new family coming in.

Now we hear of Sangeeta Kapure playing the negative chachi' of the boys.

As per a reliable source, "Shaheer and Ritvik will essay brothers in the show. Sangeeta's character will be very interesting, and the actress will have a great look.

We buzzed Sangeeta but could not get through to her.

We reached out to Producer Rajan Shahi and the channel spokesperson but did not get revert.

The spin-off will see the younger generation in the Maheshwari family.
