Mirror, mirror on the wall, how do I c myself?

Mirror: I see a shy, naive, scared, scarred , a married woman.

Babi recalls Ashok's harshness, Minnie's outcry, her helplessness ...addresses her search for her identity. BABITA...just BABITA.

Her search for identity brings a smile, a confidence. Minnie amazed at her calm disposure , questions her...keen to know about her smile...!

Babi narrates the priceless moments a mother spends with her infant. How the infant curls at a touch, secures itself in her touch, playfully fascinates her bindi, feel every change in weather and how a protective mother just cosily warms her up in a shawl to safeguard this warmth. But an infant would love to just freak out off the shawl and free it's arms and legs...that's the freedom...it wants!

Then the infant moves on to being a child to a teenager. Again a daughter is covered by her mother with a shawl, to follow the norms of society...to avoid being labelled, to avoid being gossiped about. Again the protective attitude wraps the woman with restrictions and snatches away her identity. Woman merely again become objectified bodies. If the bodies gain respect, then a woman has respect . Babi explains the harshness of Ashok scarred her body but not her SOUL. They have identity of their own. So nothing can happen to their soul.

She has let go the dark past for the beautiful present.

Babi won't let Minnie fail. As if she fails, it will b Minnie's failure. Together they march regaining their new identity...

Lovely writeup😊. Babita deserved this freedom all this time. Infact each and every women deserves this freedom. Especially from all the societal norms specifically made for her.I have seen that the more you coverup, the more are people curious to know whats beneath.

Babita had lived in a bubble of servitude for 17 years. It was a bubble created by Ashok. Hence it is very befitting that Ashok is the one who broke that bubble. Anyone else doing it would not have had such impact. Shaken but not down, Babita has to now go from being Ashok's servile Babita to HS's Durga Babita and finally become Mini's Patiala Babs.

I am so in love with this show. Hope this show remains like this till the end. 😊

Thanks Divya.😛 Loved the way the CVs have incorporated the molestation incidents being blamed on the victims based on their clothing.

Absolutely Rose. Well said!

Imagine the creep turning her to trash to satisfy his ego, Damn! But thanks to him, he made it easier for Babi to break the suhagan bubble she was in. Respect needs to b in behaviour, not in mere black beads. The sanctity of marriage no longer holds good when a man publicly invades and destroys the privacy of his better half. No Babi or Meeta deserves a Ashok.

Amazing post laxmi... Glad to see u here after yudkbh forum

Babita rising from the ashes was executed so beautifully... The mirror was so impressive and paridhi nailed it👏... The best part of the epi was babita telling mini 'main sirf shareer nahi... Babita hoon'.👏
