In my view classics are not some demi-Gods that no one can dare to touch them...I find it really interesting to see different takes on the same story by different generations/communities/regions!
People can say whatever they want about Salman but the man has a good knack for picking up good stories and entertaining the moviegoer, in general.
He also does more movies than Aamir.
Considering he only does a movie once every few years I feel he should spend his creativity by creating something INDIAN.
To this day, I love and enjoy movies like Mother India and many oldies... but also movies like Bajrangi Bhaijan/Sultan/Dabangg/Devdas/BM/Padmavaat/Baahubali/Jodhaa Akbar/3 Idiots/Swades/Chak De/The Lunchbox/Gangs of Wasseypur/ DevD/Haider/Udta Punjab/Talvar/Hindi Medium/Piku/ Chennai Express//DDLJ/Black/Andhadhun/Tumbaad/all the franchises from Houseful, Golmaal, Don, Krrish,Singham et all= add now Simmba = (these are some of my fave Indian movies..doesn't mean that everyone must like them).
They may me great or have flaws but they are quintessential Indian.
Tumbbad(a small budget horros from South is one of my most fave movie of 2018 (and I love Ranveer's movies very much! so it's something for me to say this after Khilji and Simmba)
There are a lot of foreigners like me that look to the Indian movies NOT to see copies of Western movies but rather to see originals.. or movies that capture the heart of the Indian Nation.
